Title: Do you have one of these fantasies?
Post by: Barry Scott on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, 23:05:56
Just my little fantasy really. I'd like to see us go up through the play offs because i love the drama, although i wouldn't be able to take us losing. So fantasy wise it would be auto and Reading down.

In your dreams what would you like to see happen?

Us to win the league and Reading going down, Also Oxford to fuck up again and lose in the playoffs! Cheltenham going down back to the Blue Sq Premier would be even better :D

Same as you Barry. Would love that to happen but it won't. I think Reading will go down though tbh.

With all the "supported Town since birth" stuff aside. In the 20 years I've been actively supporting Swindon we've only played Reading 10 times so they don't concern me greatly - Don't get me wrong, I don't like them but for me it's Oxford United who take up the majority of my loathing with natural disliking of Reading and the Bristol sides.

Them going down would be great though!

Any of the first two

I don't particularly dislike Reading to be honest, but I want them to go down just so they can shed the last remaining plastics and be shown up for what they are. I put for us to go up by auto, because a play-off campaign could have a bad effect on my finals and my bank account

Imagine how empty that stadium would get! Once they're out of the F.A. Cup, they're situation becomes very, very bleak.

In my wildest dreams, I see the Slave Traders going down with Reading.
It couldn't happen... could it?

I dont understand all this we dont want them in our league,am i the only one who thinks it would be fantastic to have shitty, rover's,reading and the scummers in our league.

Those games wet the appetite for a lot of fan's and would give us good gate revenue and decent crowds along with not having to travel so far (well for us who live here still anyway)

It's got be better than playing the carlisle's hartlepool's and stockport's surely.

I'd be happy to see the Gary Johnson love-in come to an end. A couple more 6-0 losses at home should do the trick.

Must've been around 1999 or 2000 when we had Shitty, Wovers, The Plastics and the pox all in league 1 with us. That was fucking sexy to be fair and i would love to play Reading and the Pox again. Would i like them to stay up so we could play them though? No. If we didn't get promoted, them coming down would be fucking great though.

I have a fantasy that involves Shannyn Sossamon, I shan't go into details.

You don't need to.  She really is a doable woman.

Don't really care about the Plastics, would love to go up via the playoffs because I would definitely be heading back to Blighty for a day out at Wembley!

Us up.

Don't give a flying fuck about anyone else.

I'd much rather get promoted at Millwall due to a Big Kev goal - who then celebrates by swinging his bollocks about in front of the home fans

It's starting to look quite dire for Reading.  They've taken their eye off the league recently and - with a few more poor results - I can see them being cut adrift of the 21st place they will need to achieve to survive.

I don't particularly dislike them.  (If truth be told, I'm quite impressed with what they have achieved in the last 10 to 15 years.)  But I really would like to start playing them again on a regular basis.  The local rivalry with Reading is not particularly strong at the moment...but give it a few years and I can quite easily see them start to replace Oxford in our 'affections' (assuming, of course, that Oxford's success this year is not repeated and they get marooned in League 2 for the next few years).  A Swindon/Reading rivalry has the potential to be huge.

There have been discussions on here about this before, and I know there are plenty who disagree with me on this...but that's the way I see it.  One way or another, I have a feeling we'll be playing Reading next year...so could be interesting.
