Title: Unbeaten Run
Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, 16:09:26
1 person to thank for this run. My dad.

Since towards the end of last season he started to have a hot dog from the van near the Town End. Since then he has yet to see Swindon lose at home. The woman in the van now knows on arrival that he is the lucky charm and ensures the the hot dog is available.

I am going to the game against Charlton, last time I had a turkey and stuffing roll before the Brighton games and he had the hot dog. What should I have this time to ensure I don't break this run?

I put this in Match day/Reaction as it is always on a match day that said hot dog is consumed!

I think you better have a chomp on your old man's hot dog!

Sure it wasn't something else in the bun? Was it offered at waist height?

I wish it was a burger he ate now after reading all these comments!

I think the food is pretty good from that van. For Football food it ain't bad at all.

Danny Wilson = Manager of the month surely.

And Austin or Paynter player of the month. That should be announced soon I guess, usually on Soccer Am.

I hope not. Please move along, nothing to see here

I checked the PFA one where the fans vote and Austin wasnt even in our squad list! I'll have another look.

Nope. Paul Lambert can have that.

It'd be quite impressive to nick 2nd spot without our manager or players winning any divisional awards all season. I'm quite happy for people to keep ignoring/underestimating us!

Along with Simon Grayson...every month.

Quite...much better to creep in under the radar.  Leeds have shown a classic case of shit after the Lord Mayor's show. We could do with getting our feet back on the ground asap.

Roots Hall is an STFC graveyard, we've had one league win there in in the 40 odd years I've been going.... :)

That's more like it :)

I'm optimistic for Saturday, I've gone for a 1-1.

me too. I seem to go to southend every year, yet I can't stand the place and their drumming muggy twat supporters.

I've only been once. Needless to say we lost. Who knows, perhaps (with their best defender sat on our bench*) this is the year for us to turn the tide!

*or not, as he apparantly injured himself vs Salisbury today

If we can win away at Stockport and at home to Leeds we can beat anyone grave yard or not.

Having said that I dont think we will win saturday. Although I at least have some faith in Wilson to bring the players back down - more so than under any other manager.

We shouldn't lose, they are pretty much in disarray, Barnard gone, and the midfielder thats scored a few recently suspended, even if we only play at 75% of how we played against Leeds we'll have too much for them.

When was the last time we won at Roots Hall?

We beat em in the coca cola cup in our play-off season I think

Yep, we beat them 3-2 or something in the first round.

I can't remember the last time we won there in the league but I think we won there for the first time in 40 years about 10 years ago - we've lost every game since  :(
