I drove last year and fuck if i can remember. Jesus, i should have a decent excuse like drugs or something, but i have no idea? I just remember a load of 13 year old fat ginger chav cunts giving me some scary eyes full of mockney-gangster-yellow-sri-nova-18-inch-sub-bass-in-your-face-me-n-mates-on-yo-case death threats.

Been working in Brentwood, Essex for last couple of months so been making the trip around the M25 a couple of times a week back to Swindon area. Will take you around 2 hours to get around M4 and M25 J28 as there's a lengthy contraflow from M40 to M1 juctions and also around M11. Southend is about 20-25 from M25. Would say you would do it in 2'30-2.45 with a good run.

If we'd lost at Leeds i'd have said 500, feel good factor will up that by 50% i reckon. Large proportion of the london based are attending.

Really hard to tell with this one. In fairness, it is a reasonable trek from Swindon. Hopefull we'll take a fair few though after last night!

It involves driving in Essex FFS. I'm with John Peel who spent the best part of 20 years going miles out of his way on a daily basis to avoid it. When you work in central London and live in rural Suffolk that one fuck of a diversion but he did it every day. And for good reason. The roads are full of the chav fuckers that BS describes. It's like Mad fucking Max

I see our friends from the rough end of the A420 are playing Chelmsford.  Anyone going by train may want to wish them good luck at Liverpool St Station.
Or you may wish to wave them goodbye on the M25. :smugfu: :smugfu:

The last time I saw us at Southend we lost 2-1, that was when the away end was the open terrace. I guess it's a much better experience now with away fans located in the North Stand.

My last trip was the JPT game, their catering facilities then consisted of what looked like an old cupboard with a couple of pasting tables with some plastic cups and crisps on. Might be an idea to eat before you get there just in case.

Most of their fans think we are beatable reading that forum. The most common comments about us seem to be we have two good strikers, two very good centre backs but no creativity in midfield, thus referring to 'our long ball tactics'. Very average side who are not in the same class as Norwich and Charlton but somehow in the play-offs.

It is a family day also this Saturday at Roots Hall so please do not swear when you are singing - thank you.

As the Great Don Vito Corleone said, over estimate your enemy and make sure they under estimate you. Or something like that.

Love the 'long ball tactics' part. Clearly their fans haven't a clue about how we play and might be in for a bit of a shock. :soapymouthrape:

Yet Jon-Paul McGovern has 12 assists this season.

10 in the league, one behind Hoolahan.

I'm sure you already knew that but i'm not quite sure where the notion of us being a long ball side have come from. Southend fans arent the first to have said it either.

To be honest, we panicked a bit against them in the home game and did launch a few long bombs upfield.

I'm really enjoying the football we are playing at the moment and lets hope teams even near the bottom of the division keep underestimating us, when they wake up and realise we are half a decent side things might get a bit tougher, they will probably shut up shop and play for a draw when coming to The County Ground.

I agree Dell, perfer to go un noticed.

Sadly, I think the Leeds result will get us noticed but if the fans of other clubs (like Southend) still arent taking us that seriously even after dicking Leeds then thats ace.

Leeds biggest defeat in over 3 years - any other time i'd be pissed off all the attention was on Leeds being bad and not us being good.

Infact, I reckon out of all the teams in L1 only Norwich would have given us a game tuesday night. All the rest would have lost, badly!

Oh and Southenders on TFF all saying we'll thump them:-

"As of today we only have 14 players available and with a virus spreading through the team, we've probably even got less than that. We're a broken team, heading for League Two without so much of a fight."

"3-0 Swindon, at least."

"We'll get dicked. End of......"

Not looking good. This is football though.
