Excellent news - 4 game ban for making a frivolous appeal. Pity they couldn't make it longer as it was obvious they knew they would lose the appeal and only did it so he could play in the league cup semi. Wankers.

Pah, same old. One rule for the big clubs, one for the others. Oh....

The FA should ban him for the next 3 games....and then ban him for the final because he and the club appealed on purpose, to play him last night.

They were never EVER going to win that appeal

Unbelievable - Ferdinand / Man Utd are considering appealing the 4 game ban....

Go for it I say, a 5 game ban will be even funnier.

Apparently he's a cunt.  Best centre back partner for John Terry (who i also apparently a cunt) if fit enough for the summer.

Am I the only one who doesn't care if footballer's are cunts?  I want them to win football matches, not be my friend.

I don't think he will be suspended for England games so i wouldn't really worry

Thanks DRS - I honestly thought he would be banned from England games, so glad you were here to clear this one up for me.

Clearly, I was voicing a concern over his fitness levels, as he's not played much football in the last few months.

What are they thinking? How can it end in anything other than an even longer ban?

Hopefully they will extend it, meaning he misses the final.

Reading it, they are appealing against the extra game, and not what he was originally banned for, so in effect they are now agreeing with the punishment, which he appealed for in the first place.

No I didn't - before they were only considering an appeal, now they are appealing.

I see said the blind man to the deaf rabbit as he picked up his hammer and saw. Same link you see, mislead me. BBC should create a new page for each non-story. :)

Not really. They appealed against the original ban and lost their appeal. Now they are saying it's wrong for the extra game to added on. This in no way suggests they agree with the original ban being upheld.
