Title: Car Stereo
Post by: Kinky Tom on Monday, June 6, 2005, 14:03:16
I don't suppose anyone has a decent car stereo head unit they dont use that I could possibly buy?

I'm stuck with a 5.5 watts RMS per channel (a whopping 2 channels by the way) Blaupunkt peice of crap.

I can't turn it up as it just distorts, so I can't rasp along the motorway with music beating away at my ear drums to a satisfactory level.

In particular if anyone has a Pioneer KEH series head unit, I'd be interested, as I used to have one, and have a CD changer for it.

Well, don't want to pay too much, otherwise I'd go to a shop.

Up to £50, depending on the head unit I suppose.

i've got one you can have for £50, mp3 cd player, cost £249 when i got it about 4 years ago, the only thing is it seems to not store where the cd last was when you turn the car off, not sure if thats because i installed it wrong when i changed me motor but thats a minor thing

KDC-M6021G is the part code, if you whack it in on google it will bring up some info for ya

Ah, I getcha.  Were you generally happy with it, and is the condition good.  Not that I think your disreutable of course.  I think we all know you can be trusted after the bang on job you did with the player sponsorship.

yeah the player its self if good as good, will post some pics tomorrow. like i said before the only problem when i put it in my pug the cd player would reset every time i turned the car on which meant it would go to the start of the cd and not remember the radio stations. It worked fine in my astra though so i don't know if i didn't install it like it should have been  :-))(

I'm happy to say if it don't work, send it back and you can have your cash back but its just sitting in my cupboard at the moment so might as well give it a hack if you want it

Probably a problem with the permanent live, I've had problems like that before with head units, I know where the permanent live is in my car though, so it will probably be OK.

Cheers dude.

Got the ST170. It was a 'have to have' purchase, bought with my heart rather than my head!! :o

If I had enough £££ for the RS, I would have done!!

Ha ha!
My sister has a clio 182!

Its nice to drive but not lightening fast. 0-60 in under 8 seconds. 6 speed box is weird at first!

I used to like those Astra GTE's when I was younger! But now I'm a lover not a racer!! :P

yeah i'm the same now.
In there day they were excellent.
the C20xe was probably one of the best engines Vauxhall ever made.
Next summer i'm hoping to be able to afford a Subaru. Not a brand new one but spending about 10k - 13k will get me a nice one (i hope) or the wife wants a Clio 182 instead.
