Title: Sheehan's Injury Post by: LJ9 on Monday, January 18, 2010, 11:35:22 With Sheehan now out for 3 weeks according the OS, he surely would of missed the Leeds game anyway as it's his parent club and the loan player can't play against his parent club.
So really we are only missing him for two weeks on the pitch - right?? Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: lambourn red on Monday, January 18, 2010, 11:40:52 No Way Sheehan will be back in three weeks if he has done his Hamstring
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: Batch on Monday, January 18, 2010, 12:00:00 No Way Sheehan will be back in three weeks if he has done his Hamstring Depends how "done" it is. Didn't look like a tweak from the stands admittedly. If it is only 3 weeks that's a massive boost, though we have a fair few games in there. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: Sippo on Monday, January 18, 2010, 12:04:27 No Way Sheehan will be back in three weeks if he has done his Hamstring Exactly. More like 6 weeks! Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jonny72 on Monday, January 18, 2010, 12:06:40 I thought a sniper had taken him out the way he went down.
One thing I never understand with injuries like that is them making / letting the player walk off the pitch. Whilst it might not do more damage, it surely can't do them any good - why not stretcher them off to be on the safe side? Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, January 18, 2010, 12:32:47 Poof.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: juddie on Monday, January 18, 2010, 13:31:05 I thought that Jonny, surely he should be caried off. Great dive when he went down though!
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: lambourn red on Monday, January 18, 2010, 13:35:03 Great dive when he went down though! I was looking for a sniper on top of the DR stand before I realised it was his a hamstring injury Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: juddie on Monday, January 18, 2010, 13:35:24 bit worried at the prospect of having Lescinel at left-back for three weeks though... looked dodgy again when he came on against Gillingham.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: DV on Monday, January 18, 2010, 13:40:49 No he didnt.
Oli didnt get past him once. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, January 18, 2010, 13:42:08 No point arguing Dave. People have already made up their minds regarding JFL.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: Barry Scott on Monday, January 18, 2010, 13:48:51 Did people honesty see Sheehan dive or act like he'd been shot? Maybe I was seeing things, but I just saw him stumble a few paces, than give into the pain with a weak collapse?
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, January 18, 2010, 14:07:36 He started pulling up, hopped a bit and then went down like he'd been shot. I was worried he'd done something far more serious due to that

Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: pauld on Monday, January 18, 2010, 14:18:05 Did people honesty see Sheehan dive or act like he'd been shot? Maybe I was seeing things, but I just saw him stumble a few paces, than give into the pain with a weak collapse? Pretty much the same. Like you say, he stumbled like he was trying to carry on, then seemed to give up, and just fell over. OK, he gave up trying to stumble and so just collapsed but hardly "like he'd been shot". Although I suppose the overall effect was perhaps that of a wounded deer that tries to stagger to her young before collapsing. It was a lot more "Bambi's Mum" than, say, "JFK" or even "Pope '81"Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, January 18, 2010, 14:30:35 Maybe it looked different from where I was. Also noticed our penalty looked softer on the highlights than it did at the time.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: juddie on Monday, January 18, 2010, 14:34:48 it looked like he dived at the end, but I think was a result of wanting to keep his left leg straight.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: LucienSanchez on Monday, January 18, 2010, 14:41:54 No he didnt. Oli didnt get past him once. Hence he resorted even more to falling over a lot. Shame the ref bought them every time. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: nevillew on Monday, January 18, 2010, 14:42:56 No he didnt. Oli didnt get past him once. Mainly because JFL fouled him most times... Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: REDBUCK on Monday, January 18, 2010, 15:04:49 But the bloke stopped winning headers and getting the knock ons that were causing us problems in the First Half. Swings and Roundabouts
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, January 18, 2010, 15:08:53 Juddie, are you drunk? That doesn't make any sense to me at all.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: BANGKOK RED on Monday, January 18, 2010, 15:12:30 Juddie, are you drunk? That doesn't make any sense to me at all. He's a journalist innit. Maybe he is going through a more creative period, perhaps this is his own renaissance period. Probably something a bit too profound for us to truly comprehend. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, January 18, 2010, 15:16:28 Oh right. I thought he was just talking shite :D
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: juddie on Monday, January 18, 2010, 15:20:17 ha ha, just read it back, what the fkuc was I talking about!!
What I meant to say was... Sheehan been playing well recently, but I thought Oli had the better of him at times in the first half. When Lescinel came on, I didn't feel that confident with him on the pitch. I was also arguing I'm not convinced with manky, and that full-backs is a bit of an issue... They'll do the job, but they're not as good as players elsewhere in the side. That's the only weak link I can see at the mo. Centre-backs fine, centre mid - could do with one more, although I'd also argue Eastie should maybe get the odd game, wingers - fine when OBrien is back, but maybe another loan option wouldn't hurt. Up top fine. Goalkeepers fine, too. that better?! Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, January 18, 2010, 16:04:37 Kevin Amankwaah?
You are drunk, aren't you? Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: STFC Bart on Monday, January 18, 2010, 16:23:40 Lescinel never inspires any confidence. Think we will struggle in that area with Sheehan out.
Wilson needs to sign another left back on a months loan i think. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: juddie on Monday, January 18, 2010, 16:26:42 Manky is fairly solid. Like I say, I'm picking the shit out of the sugar, but we could do better.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: phelpsieboy on Monday, January 18, 2010, 16:35:35 I am full of confidence when Big Kev is playing, i rate him very highly and dont see RB is a problem at all, very good at going forward , uses his height, strength and pace very effectively and can do the job defensively too. Hard to find any other RB's like him.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: Langers on Monday, January 18, 2010, 16:41:52 The only problem i see at RB is cover, i am very happy for kev to be playing there but i think we could do with someone who could step in if he was injured/suspended.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: phelpsieboy on Monday, January 18, 2010, 16:44:37 Cuthbert played RB at St Mirren and got player of the year, and morrison and Greer CB pairing, only problem then tho is both of them are bad against pacy strikers
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, January 18, 2010, 16:55:40 We should have kept Jerel Ifil and Andy Nicholas.
Seriously, you lot will moan about anything. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: nevillew on Monday, January 18, 2010, 17:00:20 Why did we let Vincent (J) go ? ;)
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: adje on Monday, January 18, 2010, 17:34:33 Cuthbert played RB at St Mirren and got player of the year, and morrison and Greer CB pairing, only problem then tho is both of them are bad against pacy strikers He also played RB at Gillingham and looked awful-he's definitely a CB,and a bloody good one at thaat. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jonny72 on Monday, January 18, 2010, 17:38:42 Didn't he play right back in the first home game of the season? If so, I'm pretty certain he was shit then as well.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: DV on Monday, January 18, 2010, 18:33:23 Mainly because JFL fouled him most times... Stopped him didnt it. Didn't he play right back in the first home game of the season? If so, I'm pretty certain he was shit then as well. No, he didnt. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: reeves4england on Monday, January 18, 2010, 19:31:13 He also played RB at Gillingham and looked awful-he's definitely a CB,and a bloody good one at thaat. If you judge any of our players on their performance at Gills away you'd have to conclude we're going to get relegated.Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: adje on Monday, January 18, 2010, 20:56:34 If you judge any of our players on their performance at Gills away you'd have to conclude we're going to get relegated. Well its significant he hasn't played RB since.Just saying he needs to stay in the middle, thats all. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: Batch on Monday, January 18, 2010, 21:29:07 He also played RB at Gillingham and looked awful-he's definitely a CB,and a bloody good one at thaat. Played prematurely as he was just recovering from injury. He might be shit at RB, but I don't think the Gills game is the game to judge him on. But I agree, why would you want to break the Geer/Cuthbert partnership anyway. Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: juddie on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, 10:52:48 think he was sh*t because he was unfit as well. But he's not really put a foot wrong since has he... him and greer look excellent together, and with morrison as back up, we're comfortable in that area of the pitch.
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: jb on Monday, October 4, 2010, 18:29:53 Any news of when he'll be fit?
Title: Re: Sheehan's Injury Post by: stfctownenda on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 08:03:50 Any news of when he'll be fit? I heard he was out for 2 weeks, unsure if thats 100% accurate. |
