Alan Sheehan will remain at The County Ground until the end of the campaign after Town agreed a deal with Leeds United this afternoon. The versatile Irishman has proved a valuable addition to the squad since his arrival, making seven appearances for The Robins. The 23-year-old Irishman is equally comfortable at left-back or on the left side of midfield and his extended deal will see him remain at Swindon until 31st May 2010. Town boss Danny Wilson was pleased with the news, as he continues shaping the squad for what will be an important second half of the campaign. He said: "You saw the quality the lad possesses on Saturday against Fulham, and he seems to play better against the bigger teams. "That's generally the sign of a quality player and we're delighted to have him back here. "It gives us that bit more strength and competition at left-back with Lecsy and Callum Kennedy which is great from our point of view." http://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10341~1923798,00.html good news judging by comments others have made... not seen him play yet Title: Re: sheehan Post by: Luci on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, 15:15:08 Get in - although I thought we were after him perm as opposed to extended loan....but then I guess with Leeds going up, he will most definitely be surplus to requirements there come season end.

Title: Re: sheehan Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, 17:26:35 Great signing. I dstill hope we can makle it permanent.
Does this mean that our left side is going to be JFL and Ward against Leeds? That doesn't fill me with huge confidence if I'm honest. Title: Re: sheehan Post by: axs on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, 17:31:19 Glad he's staying on, he's impressed so far, but I still expect him to miss at least one fixture through suspension, just hope it's leeds.
