Post by: axs on Sunday, January 3, 2010, 17:51:32
To help out an idiot who's tried to electrocute himself?

We had this guy in when we were doing our extension, and he replaced our old fuse box, fixed a few bits and bobs and was generally very good.

You are lucky mate, cos electric shocks are fucking horrible, had a fair few in my time and I don't wish them on anyone.

I am lucky, I have a high resistance but if you don't then you are a gonner.

That's exactly what I did when I needed the guy a listed above!

I was putting in a new wall light (replacing an old one) and needed to put in a new rawl plug when BANG! I saw a blinding light, and flew back about 4 feet!

Anyway, your man came over and disconnected the wiring that was still sticking out of the smoking crater in the wall and made it all safe.  It's what I refered to above as "bits and bobs"!

More likely I'll go from hypothermia, some sockets aren't working, including the power supply to the boiler.

I had one once, when fiddling about with plugs behind the TV. The shock itself came from the TV after I out my hand on the back to use it as a support whilst bending down, from then on I knew why so many warnings about TV's.

A very very unpleasant experience which hurt for several days afterwards.

All sorted, cheers timmy. Dead cheap and came round the same day I called.
