Title: Jeremy Wray
Post by: lambourn red on Sunday, January 3, 2010, 17:23:09
Just bumped into Jeremy Wray in Waitrose Newbury and we had a lengthy chat about yesterday's game which him and AF were very pleased with in respect of the support we took it has shown them the potential the club has. He then went on to talk about 2 NEW players who he said should be signing this week that will excite everybody also suggested that the pricing structure will be looked at again in the summer and admitted they had made a mistake with the Townend and also mentioned that they were looking at moving the away fans into the stratton bank and not giving them any of the Arkells.
He also said that although he was pleased that Leeds beat Man Utd they were hoping to re-arrange the Leeds game to the vacant Saturday had they been knocked out.
Thoroughly nice bloke and he said at the end that all the board were determined that we can make the play-offs this season and that they would be giving DW as much backing as possible to do that.

They are all really good to chat to when you see them in person. Sounds like we could be in for a good week this week. They'll have to improve facilities in the SB though, i wouldn't be happy with the little wooden tuck shop!

I don't mean to discredit you Mr Lambourn, but I hear and see comments like "talk about 2 NEW players who he said should be signing this week that will excite everybody" a lot and they seem to take ages to materialise, if at all

Believe what you want to believe I am only passing on what the man DID say to me if you choose not to believe it then it is up to you. He did say SHOULD be signing which means it may still not happen but I think they have learnt the lesson from the Theo saga so there is no chance any names are going to get into the public domain until they are done.

cheers spencer I was starting to wonder why I bothered to even pass it on some people are such sceptics, the thing that came over was how enthusiastic he was about the future and you could tell he was genuinely excited by the potential signings.

Do you not think, that in an unexpected encounter, they're just gonna tell you what you want to hear?

He's hardly going to turn around and say it's all a load of bollocks, he's gonna see how much wedge he can milk out of the club then bugger off is he, for fear of being punched in the middle of the bleedin' bread aisle.

I just started talking to him about the Fulham day and how it was good to see so many Town fans travelling from all over, I never questioned him about anything he just kept rambling on and by the way it was in the sauces and condiments aisle he was wearing his black addidas managers overcoat thing with a Town badge on and he had his daughter with him.

now sauces and condiments is far more believable, question was which condiments was he browsing, i reckon he is a chilli man.

Presumably this is now to be renamed the 'sources and condiments' aisle?

Guacamole isn't a sauce or a condiment, it's a dip. Get a grip for Gods sake!

The only good use for Guacamole is in a Fajita.

I have to agree with Pauld here as the dips are in the cold section not the sauces and condiments aisle

Ketchup 'sauce' = dip
chilli sauce = dip
barbeque sauce = dip

I rest my case your honour.

Seems Watkins is saying he is expecting a busy transfer window in a new article on the BBC website
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swindon_town/8439410.stm

so fingers crossed lets hope the deals Mr Wray was talking about are in the process of being done.

Guacamole is not a dip, its a meal in its own right. I could quite happily sell Mr. Wray's young daughter for a plateful of Guacamole served off the bosoms of a tongan beauty.

It is Blasphemous to post pictures of my mother on a lower league english football message board. May god forgive you, I cant.

BR, you make a fair point, there are many grey areas in the sauce-condiment-dip spectrum, but I think lambourn has it right, in supermarket terms, they're shelved separately. Sauces and condiments being in jars and such, whereas guacamole is more of your chilled item. Mr Wray is not the kind of man to start heading off on a wild guacamole chase down the sauces and condiments aisle, he'd be straight at the chiller. And rightly so.

The best solution would be for us to promoted so that the TEF can be a higher league English football message board....would the CCC do?
