Title: So Post by: leefer on Friday, January 1, 2010, 12:15:45 Paynter on his own up front tomorow people?..what do you think..will he go adventurous and maybe play Revel as well....should imagine he will go for keeping it tight....will Macklin play?
Will he play Smith in goal....or just keep the same team as last week. Happy New Year to all. Title: Re: So Post by: 4D on Friday, January 1, 2010, 12:24:03 No Revell according to the Beeb thread
Title: Re: So Post by: DV on Friday, January 1, 2010, 12:29:55 No Revell, no Austin, no O'Brien.
I think he'll start Ward but put him wide left in a midfield 5. Then one of Macklin or JPM wide right and then the middle three being Douglas, Ferry and one of JPM or Timlin. ack 5 picks itself Lucas Amankwaah Cuthbert Greer Sheehan JPM or Macklin Ferry Douglas Timlin or JPM Ward Paynter Start off as a 4-5-1 keep it tight and try to get the wingers to fed of Paynter. Can easily be switched to a 4-4-2 by pushing Ward upfront and having JPM and Macklin/Timlin as the wide men in a midfield 4. Title: Re: So Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, January 1, 2010, 12:35:21 Is Sheehan allowed to play? I hope he is allowed.
As for up front, I have a feeling he will play Hutchinson or maybe Ward if hes allowed by Bolton to keep the same shape as the team has been playing recently, straight swap for Austin. But if we do go 5 accross midfield I have a feeling that Timlin may be given a chance though against his former employers. We seem to have a much better shape playing with 2 strikers than we do with just 1 up top. Title: Re: So Post by: leefer on Friday, January 1, 2010, 12:37:56 Agreed jjed though we played well at Wolves with one up front...cant see him playing with two up front...you never know with DW though.
Title: Re: So Post by: DV on Friday, January 1, 2010, 12:42:23 Sheehan played against Wrexham
plus if you swap Ward for Austin who do you swap for O'Brien? Title: Re: So Post by: adje on Friday, January 1, 2010, 12:58:04 Sheehan played against Wrexham plus if you swap Ward for Austin who do you swap for O'Brien? Sheehan and JFL at left back!Hope not though. Title: Re: So Post by: tans on Friday, January 1, 2010, 13:20:16 I see Andy Johnson will probably be playing.
Damien Duff vs Amankwaah could be interesting! Title: Re: So Post by: jonny72 on Friday, January 1, 2010, 13:31:29 Not sure DW will go back to 5 in midfield as 4-4-2 has been working so well for us recently. So the obvious changes are JFL at left back, Sheehan at left midfield and Ward up front.
There again, going with a more defensive 5 man midfield to keep things tight is an option. I reckon he'd go with Timlin in the middle rather than bringing Macklin in, with Ward making up the numbers - to make the midfield more defensive. So to summarise, I haven't got a fucking clue who'll play or the formation. Title: Re: So Post by: Spencer_White on Friday, January 1, 2010, 14:18:38 Ward on the left. Macklin playing off Paynter up front.
Title: Re: So Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Friday, January 1, 2010, 15:37:37 Not 4-5-1. We may as well try and win the game. 4-4-2 with Ward upfront and Macklin on the left.
Title: Re: So Post by: Spencer_White on Friday, January 1, 2010, 16:42:00 I just hope they are in the right frame of mind. Wilson has to get them to play without any fear. Just to enjoy it and give it their best shot.
Title: Re: So Post by: Barry Scott on Friday, January 1, 2010, 17:59:17 Sheehan played against Wrexham plus if you swap Ward for Austin who do you swap for O'Brien? Timlin played a lot on the left of midfield at Fulham, so we could always stick him out there, which would also add a bit more defensive strength. Title: Re: So Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, January 1, 2010, 18:36:35 But Timlins shit
Title: Re: So Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Friday, January 1, 2010, 18:37:33 How about Easton alongside douglas and ferry with ward on the left
Title: Re: So Post by: adje on Friday, January 1, 2010, 18:47:39 How about Easton alongside douglas and ferry with ward on the left I'd like to see that-wont happen though I think. Title: Re: So Post by: DV on Friday, January 1, 2010, 19:58:28 Cant see it, as much as I or we disagree Wilson clearly favours Timlin ahead of Easton. Infact he rates Timlin in general. He has been poor this season.
Title: Re: So Post by: Arriba on Friday, January 1, 2010, 20:08:08 i hope we go there to try to win the game.get in their faces, press the ball all over the park.
if we go one up front i fear we will just invite them on and they will batter us. i think we will lose anyway but i want us to go down fighting regardless.and it's the fa cup so who knows? i want to see 4-4-2 with anyone up top with paynter exept that useless cunt hutchison.if peacock is fit i reckon i'd go with him. Easton played at Wolves and did well...Easton for me but with the little extra space you get it may suit Timlins game more.....personally i dont think either will start. |
