Sam Parkin, yes?

Anyone fancy doing an STFC team of the decade?

Haven't seen a town game in three years but for me it's Parkin.

  We started the decade on the slide, and have stumbled along since.

  There are very few players worthy of an honourable mention when compared to some of the greats of the past.

 Probably just Parkin and Cox.

He was a twat for leaving, yes, but can't deny that he was brilliant in his season here.

Of course Parkin is player of the decade, as he scored consistently for three seasons, but he'd have be followed by Mooney or Cox IMO.

mooney was good for half a season.shouldn't even be shortlisted for a list

How many players can you name who in the last decade for us have had a season as good as Mooney did, though?

There's not many.

Migz had more better games than Mooney.

And Grant Smith had a good half season. And Brian Howard.

Mooney? WTF? He only had one season here.

Stefani Miglioranzi and probably Jerel Ifi to.

I know our fans will always remember the worst of him because thats what we do, but he had his good spells and I expect you all to tell me differently but I dont care.

i wont.he was player of the year league 2 promotion season,and took that form into the season after.
didn't last though.still was arguably our best player for a season and a half so that will do for me

That is the toughest one to call, too many contenders - Fola, Benjamin, Hutchinson, Slabber, Casal, Mohamed, Nicolua, Thorpe, Jarret.

That's just a few.

If you're going to do a worst you have to set a minimum appearance limit really. Minimum of 30 appearances or something similar

Michael Pook

Now only was he bad but he managed to stay here for 6 seasons under 6 different managers and played 127 games.

He must have been Pele in training.

I think it was more down to the fact we couldn't afford anyone decent to replace him.

Yeah we didnt bring in many midfielders while Pook was here

Gareth Whalley, Colin Heath, Neale McDermott, Paul Smith, Andy Gurney, Curtis Weston, Paul Evans, Paul Ince, Michael Timlin, Chris Allen, Craig Easton, Steve Adams, Lillian Nalis, Owian Tudor-Jones and a makeshift Lee Peacock.

Of course not many of them were up to much themselves. Infact Lee Peacock probably makes top 3!

Spot on team, DRS, if your including loaness then Milner would be in there, I know he wasn't here for long. One of the games he had at the CG (Peterborough I think) he was absolutely superb and you could tell he would have a career in the top flight. Capped his performance off with a goal I think.

Jimmy Davis was the best footballer we've had this decade in my opinion but SSP would win player of the decade.Worst to have played over 30 games would be Hewlett for me closely followed by Pook

Interestingly we didn't win a game during James Milner's 6 game spell here, and that was the play-off season so its not as if we were as shite as we usually are.

Parkin was probably bestest but my favourite was Fola.

I think that JFL is my favourite. I've probably only seen him play for a few mins which might help. I love him though, he seems awesome.

He's helped us score more goals than he's been the main man at fault for too. People are always so negative.

What about game of the decade and individual performance of the decade?

For me it would be Migz in the 2-2 draw with Leeds United in the Carling cup.  The best game would be that Leeds game or the second Brighton game in the playoffs (even though we lost both)

My guess Michael is that you were thinking of Michael Carrick who played six times without a win.
