Can't say i'm that attached to 'the county ground' anyway. As long as it brings in the benjamins who really cares?

Interesting to see Nick Watkins getting a very public bollocking at the end of that article.

The man is a treasure and does not deserve to be hung out to dry in that manner.

I didn't read that as a bollocking, just a statement of fact - the issue with St Modwen had to be dealt with, presumably by Watkins, and that held things up. Sounded like he was more pissed with St Modwen over it.

As regards renaming the ground, who gives a fuck. Its a pretty shit name and if we get some money then why not.

Can't sea either Honda, Nationwide or Zurich being interested to be honest whilst we sit in the third division. Now The Adidas Arena or EA Sports Stadium have a certain ring to them!

Like others, I didn't read it that way either, seemed much more having a go at St Modwens. He just said he was waiting on a report from Nick, not that he was responsible for St Modwens embarassing amateur shenannigans

Zurich would never go for it. They stopped sponsoring the rugby premiership because "It didn't meet their corporate vision".
