Budgie along with Iffy apparently are in the running for the job at Cheltenham. I always thought Byrne could be a manager one day, personally I hope he stays. He is good at getting some decent young players in! If he goes good luck to him!

I'll be staggered if Iffy ever gets a job in league football again, the bloke is fucking hopeless.

Byrne on the other hand despite being a bit of a cunt and making a tit of himself when he didn't get the job last time, did pretty well when he held the reins and I'd wish him well.

I'd like Byrne to get the Cheltenham job. Think that would be a great move for him.

I thought he was a bit unlucky not to get the job here, a couple of last minute goals were probably what lost it for him. But he seems to be doing a good job finding young talent so it would be a loss if he went.

Good luck to him if he does get it though, will be interesting to see how he does. Prefer him to go to Cheltenham than anywhere else, they might think we're cunts but I like them.

I spoke to him yesterday afer the reserve match and there is no chance he is leaving.He has just signed a 2 year contract and loves it here,even if they offer it to him he would turn it down.

Anything in particular he loves? The role? The club? The Swindon ladies?

Just got the impression he actually does care about the club and seems to be enjoying the new role.

Good Stuff. I have spoken to him before when Luggy left and he opted to stay here despite all the shite saying he owed something to Swindon Town! Well Done Budgie. I think it showed despite the results how much town fans appreciated Byrne's efforts with Town fans singing "Theres only one David Byrne" at Leyton Orient after Wilson was given the job.

I think Rodgers would have come good at Reading eventually.  They'll regret the decision one day.  The front runner for the manager's job now seems to be Darren Ferguson.

Reading are slowly returning to earth after the Madejski-led boost given to them 10-15 years ago.  Of course, I would love it if we were able to match their crowds, but the buzz there is not as loud as it used to be.  Take a walk around Reading these days and the Reading FC shirts are noticeably outnumbered by London Irish shirts.

I'm also amazed at the hostility now shown by many of their fans to Madejski for his 'failure to invest' during the last few years.  Breathtaking ignorance.  Madejski's ties with Reading FC will loosen further over the next few years, I'm sure...and then they'll miss him.

Glad to hear Budgie's staying and not surprised to hear he wants to. His affection for the club is genuine and don't think anyone could doubt the loyalty and commitment he's shown. But if he does change his mind, on Nam or another job, I think we'd all wish him the very best of luck. Done a great job here

Every piece of bad news, Reading related, makes me very happy indeed. My mate's cousin is a plastic and he's the most arrogant Swindon slating fat little cunt ever.

I remember going out with him in around Jan, the season they were relegated from the Prem, and listened to him wax lyrical about how amazing they were. He even said things along the lines of "too good/big to be relegated." The lack of text messages coming from him at the end of that season was so sweet.

Darren Ferguson has probably been lurking around a Reading hotel waiting for this decision for the last few weeks.

All seems a long way from the days of their planned 40,000+ stadium expansion plans and the missive indicating they regarded Swindon as part of their catchment.

I think what we should be concerned with is if Nigel Worthington get's any of the managerial jobs vacant then I suspect that Wilson will become one of the top contenders for the NI managers job - and if that was offered would he fancy a crack at international management for his country ?

I have a friend who follows Northern Ireland home and away and I recall him saying that Danny Wilson had a funny habit of being "injured" for games that weren't of great importance :)

Perhaps Danny wouldn't be a great appointment... Give it to Jimmy Quinn instead.
