Title: Wedding bands
Post by: juddie on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, 23:38:45
anybody know any decent wedding bands? Not getting married til next August, but found a few bands we like on tinterweb. Does anybody have any firsthand experience of anyone good?

We're after a decent covers band that plays new stuff and old.

Ta much!

I remember years ago someone i know was after a band called Risky Business, which we saw at a Barn Dance and they were pretty good. Although it was over 10 years ago, so they could be long gone! :)

A band called Penfold played at my wedding a few years ago, my brother in law was the drummer so we got them very cheap :).

They've changed a bit now though as they don't have a keyboard player so their stuff is a bit rockier. I haven't seen them for a couple of years so not sure what stuff they're playing nowadays.

Could still be worth a look though.

penfold played at our rugby club ball last summer, thought they were really good. Lots of get up and jump around sort of songs that even I had the occasional stagger to. That may have been the 6X though....

Probably better to skimp on the entertainment and invest in a decent lawyer to arrange the prenups.

Or, a newish phenomenon.  Put the money in a running away fund.  When I found out married couples did this, I freaked.  Cynical I am but that's mercenary to the extreme.

You have to book KMB and then give an open invite to the TEF for your reception.

Penfold?
They played at our wedding and were superb, although that was 7 years ago
and I got them cheap as my brother-in-law was their drummer
at the time.

Wam are a nifty beat combo.Charred Hearts or Ian Doeser(spolling) usually get people on the dance
floor "to cut a rug".
Hope this helps.

A band called Bitter and Twisted played at a do I was at recently - they were ace - just a 2 piece, acoustic guitar and bass, with a great range of stuff and good banter.

The singer from that band lives opposite the guitarist from Kova Me Badd.
