Title: Re: Brez Post by: Barry Scott on Thursday, December 10, 2009, 00:36:06 I went to McDonalds some time ago, while he was still Swindon's Number 1, and saw him eat a Burger and then smoke a fag. I liked him more after that, although i wasn't too keen on the parisian artist look he was sporting that day.

He's lived on that more than John Barnes flukey goal v. Brazil. Title: Re: Brez Post by: Arriba on Saturday, December 12, 2009, 12:20:01 he was also fantastic against swansea

Title: Re: Brez Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 12:32:01 Poor Brez he's starting to look more and more like the poor man's Bart Griemink.
I often think if it was the injury that did him in or if he was genuinely just a bit crap anyway. Probably a bit of both. Probably hit a purple patch here and was always shit in reality but is rememebered fondly for his couple of good games when he arrived. Why would FC Brno let him go for only £50K? Title: Re: Brez Post by: leefer on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 14:11:40 There are lots of keepers like Brez..Mildenhall was brilliant v Chelsea last season in the cup..always likely to drop a clanger, same as Evans...one moment he was brilliant and then would be awfull.
In fact the general standards of keeping are alot lower than years ago in my opinion...Lucas is the best keeper weve had in a long time...Smith is a good back up. Title: Re: Brez Post by: STFC_Gazza on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 14:51:06 There are lots of keepers like Brez..Mildenhall was brilliant v Chelsea last season in the cup..always likely to drop a clanger, same as Evans...one moment he was brilliant and then would be awfull. In fact the general standards of keeping are alot lower than years ago in my opinion...Lucas is the best keeper weve had in a long time...Smith is a good back up. Lucas has done well but the last 2 goals he has been too far off his line for the goals against Charlton (94th min) and Yeovil (their only goal). I dont think he has done enough to be dropped but compared to earlier in the season Lucas has not been at his "best". Then again same could be said for Greer. Last 4 games we have conceeded 8 goals. I suppose 2 goals a game is average but hopefully we can get another clean sheet soon. I am sure that will be adressed though when DW brings in a decent replacement for Leischenel Jean-Francois, who to be honest has been pretty wank for the last month or so. Title: Re: Brez Post by: leefer on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 14:56:56 Completly agree with your comment about the Charlton goal, though he must have thaught Mank was going to make it....was in line with the Tomlin goal and no keeper would have reached it,even if they were a yard out.......thaught Greer did well on Saturday, you will see Cuthbert and Greers quality on Saturday....at Wolves they were outstanding and i think both would be comfortable in the Championship...as for LJF i cant really say much as he hasnt really reached the heights to fall from!
Title: Re: Brez Post by: DV on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 15:55:10 Odd that, I had a mate round and SSN on and he was telling me how someone was sat next to Phil Smith at some sporting dinner thing and he was someone asked Smith what had change from the last season (this was last season) and Smith basically laid into the keeper coach.
My mate said Brez looked ok for Brighton when we played them so maybe he would have got back to his best this season. Then the brighton/wycombe highlights came on right at the moment! perfect time! Title: Re: Brez Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 17:45:26 He was their MoM on Saturday. Guess you didn't see his howler on Monday against Wycombe then? Title: Re: Brez Post by: Bennett on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 18:37:55 Guess you didn't see his howler on Monday against Wycombe then? i did, how i laughed Title: Re: Brez Post by: Rich Pullen on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 21:27:21 Probably hit a purple patch here and was always shit in reality but is rememebered fondly for his couple of good games when he arrived. Why would FC Brno let him go for only £50K? Brezovan's debut was top notch and followed it up with consistantly good performances - not spectacular but certainly good enough. Then the injury. I imagine you sang his praises just as much as the rest during his early months at Swindon. Title: Re: Brez Post by: RobertT on Thursday, December 31, 2009, 00:41:45 Brezovan did live off his first 6 games or so before the injury where he was immense. The reason people looked at him was because he was a bit of an unknown, was of a similar frame to Cech who was doing well at Chelsea and people wondered if we'd managed to get someone in under the radar a little. Turned out, could have been the injury, that he was just an ok keeper. His size will always work for him because he must reduce the confidence of strikers facing up to him but his all round ability is not a patch on Lucas.
