Title: JFL
Post by: herthab on Friday, November 27, 2009, 10:15:16
Some of the comments on here recently about Leschinel are a bit OTT.

Yes, he set Austin's goal up on Tuesday night, but during the first half he was hopeless. Most of the balls he played up the field ended up with a throw in for Huddersfield!

Sheehan will be a better option.

Let's have it right. It's LJF, or LJ-F if you're being extra pedantic. It's not JFL or even LFJ as I've seen it on here in the last few days. Thanks.

It's whatever I want it to be.

Is his first name Lescinal then and is surname Jean Francois, because that just seems backwards to me? Serious question, because i don't know.

In defence of the Haitian's distribution, in the first half the wind was blowing, strongly, from Town End-Arkells corner across to Adkins-Don Rogers corner.

Further to this, his main outlet up the line, was non-existant as that player was hiding in the middle of the pitch somewhere.

Anyway, I'm off to Bristol to blow a wallet.

I may re-engage in this conversation another time.

So he should have been playing the ball into the centre midfielders?

it's Lescinel Jean-François.

"Mon prénom est Lescinel et mon nom de famille est Jean-François!"

Yeah, but maybe he puts his family name first.

Also, it's pretty likely that 'Lescinel' is actually a mystical title which loosely translated means 'surprised spider wizard'. It doesn't matter if it goes before or after his name.

He's a bit inconsistant for me. One minute he'll look shit hot, and the next minute plain shit. Clearly the weakest link in the back 4 (or 5).

In the first half on Tuesday he was overlapping Macca so much that Macca was the deeper of the two players. Which I guess is why Macca and JPM swapped around as JPM offered more protection to LJF (and Amankwaah freed up macca a bit).

Lesci makes are back four more secure than previous seasons, personally, I have him in my top five players this season.

This better be sarcasm as otherwise you have been drinking, I can name many players that have performed better below, based on that he wouldn't be in the top 8:

Simon Ferry
Billy Paynter
John Paul McGovern
Jonathan Douglas
Scott Cuthbert
Gordon Greer
David Lucas
Kevin Amankwah

This is probably a whooosh that I have fallen for but Lescinel is the weak link in our team, if they work on his positional and his reading of the game then he could be a good player.

Someone has always got to be the weak link though havent they?

LJF is the weak link in our extremely solid back 5. Just shows how strong the other 4 are.

If ime not wrong wasnt he involved in both goals v Huddersfield....hes an attacking defender..unlike Greer,Cuthbert etc....not brilliant but not bad.

Most people forget he is still pretty young and had pretty much fuck all experience before he came here. He's vastly improved since his first games for us and seems to keep getting better and better. I thought Huddersfield was one of his best performances, especially in the second half when he was solid as fuck.

Bearing in mind we're a poorly supported, crap, league one team with no money I reckon we should be more than happy to have him as our left back.

He did a better job of marking Pilkington than Timlim did.  I'd persevere with him. He's been hardly helped by Macca.
