Title: Big Sam. Post by: leefer on Saturday, November 21, 2009, 12:28:16 Hearing Sam Allardyce is facing a spell away from the game as hes got to have a heart operation...narrowing of the arteries i believe...not a great fan of his but obviously wish him well.
Its got me thinking how routine heart surgery is now and how far forward its come...with Souness and a fair few others managers having fairly serious surgery in some cases many years back it does seem fairly routine now. I don't have much hope for Blackburn staying up though.

Proof that it is still possible for English managers to succeed at the top level. That said, I won't be shedding any tears if Blackburn do go down. They were the first side during my football supporting life to have bought their place in the Premiership. Burnley's story is far more impressive.

Remember McMahon's 'Take it like a man, Sam' quote on live radio when Allardyce tried to interrupt an interview taking place on the pitch? |
