Title: Sammy Igoe Post by: walrus on Friday, June 3, 2005, 14:35:09 According to the Adver site Sammy Igoe is desperate to stay yet wants to Swindon to budge a "tiny bit" on his contract offer. It's pretty depressing that despite a successful 03/04 season we're still plagued by financial problems, but I guess that's the joys of following League One football. Personally, I'm of the ilk that think Igoe has the quality to be a great player for Town, indeed I tipped him to sign long before he actually did from Reading and when he actually did got a little moist....
However, his inconsistent performances have cost Swindon in my opinion, and his performance has a stark impact on the team as a whole, much like Miglioranzi. Too lightweight for midfield, not quick or intelligent enough for the wing, picked up a number of silly injuries - I'd like a replacement please! I certainly don't think we should be stretching our budget to try and keep him, he's replaceable. I said get rid of him before but now fat boy and cuntface have gone we need to keep him. He does sound like he's changed his tune (attitude wise) but I'm still sceptical as to if he has the right work ethic. We need players capable of graft in our team.
