Anyone got any ideas of where we can go? I need to book somewhere for a team of about 20 people for the 23rd December. We have been given a 2 hour lunch break from 12-2. I work at the Pipers Way Nationwide so need places near there! Any help would be great as we only realised today that we hadn't booked anywhere! (I doubt we will get a table anywhere now though)

teams in my area of MAA have been told we get 1 hour instead of 2. it's very gay considering there are teams in MAA in NH who are getting 2 hours

as a result i don't care.

Good luck finding anywhere on December 23rd. We normally have ours a week before, and we still have to book at least a month in advance.

I think someone has the marquee set up especially for for Christmas party nights? think it might be over Lydiard somewhere??? they are normally reasonally priced and you get a bit of food/wine/cheesy disco??

The main problem with these things, are the types who only get out once a year, have the odd drink or two then get completely embarrassing.

They then call me a miserable bugger for giving it as wide a berth as possible....despite saying I'd be more than happy to go out on the lash any other time of the year, or even some late nighting after the do.

Fuck that, Limpley Stoke hotel 2006, our works do was always mint and there was always a nursery from Bath (not the kiddiewinks, of course) who had their do the same weekend we always did, I ended up smashing some totally trolleyed horror (I was caned as well, to be fair)... thats what its all about Reginald me old chap!

Completely agree with this - however I am new so have decided to go this year to not look like a miserable bastard.  My reward is a probably inedible meal at a miserable chain hotel on a dual carriageway on the outskirts of Telford.  Two courses, no drinks, £20.  People I work with don't drink and I'll be driving. 
I assume we will talk about the corporate stapling strategy, make some office -based in-jokes and feign interest in each other's lives.

I can hardly wait.

If I was in Swindon I would have probably gone to it, but £20 + petrol + bridge = £50 and I don't think it's worth it.

I wanted to go to the Cardiff one but I have to move out of the flat by 11am the following day and I don't trust myself to drink sensibly.
