Title: Work Xmas meals Post by: swindon_chick on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 19:16:41 Anyone got any ideas of where we can go? I need to book somewhere for a team of about 20 people for the 23rd December. We have been given a 2 hour lunch break from 12-2. I work at the Pipers Way Nationwide so need places near there! Any help would be great as we only realised today that we hadn't booked anywhere! (I doubt we will get a table anywhere now though)
Title: Re: Work Xmas meals Post by: Bennett on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 19:21:33 teams in my area of MAA have been told we get 1 hour instead of 2. it's very gay considering there are teams in MAA in NH who are getting 2 hours

Title: Re: Work Xmas meals Post by: Summerof69 on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 19:33:42 Good luck finding anywhere on December 23rd. We normally have ours a week before, and we still have to book at least a month in advance.

The main problem with these things, are the types who only get out once a year, have the odd drink or two then get completely embarrassing. They then call me a miserable bugger for giving it as wide a berth as possible....despite saying I'd be more than happy to go out on the lash any other time of the year, or even some late nighting after the do. Completely agree with this - however I am new so have decided to go this year to not look like a miserable bastard. My reward is a probably inedible meal at a miserable chain hotel on a dual carriageway on the outskirts of Telford. Two courses, no drinks, £20. People I work with don't drink and I'll be driving. I assume we will talk about the corporate stapling strategy, make some office -based in-jokes and feign interest in each other's lives. I can hardly wait. Mind you, my first office Christmas party for my current employers was a good laugh, though it was my birthday so I was in high spirits. Title: Re: Work Xmas meals Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, November 27, 2009, 18:24:51 You're all miserable cunts, I'm going to mine.

We are having a lunchtime do at an Italian place, and our evening meal at an Indian. Title: Re: Work Xmas meals Post by: Freddies Ferret on Friday, November 27, 2009, 22:26:56 im probably just being miserable about it because the wife will be there :)
Title: Re: Work Xmas meals Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, November 27, 2009, 23:15:57 If I was in Swindon I would have probably gone to it, but £20 + petrol + bridge = £50 and I don't think it's worth it.
I wanted to go to the Cardiff one but I have to move out of the flat by 11am the following day and I don't trust myself to drink sensibly. |
