Title: Internationals Post by: Summerof69 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:40:13 Watching the Wales v Scotland match, with Wales 3-0 up after 35 mins, and should've had a penalty.
Scotland are shite. :D Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Luci on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:42:39 Glad neither of those two teams are anywhere near the world cup, I dislike both.
Heres hoping the ROI beat the Frenchies tonight :D Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:43:59 Scotland are bollocks. Ha ha this really had made my afternoon.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Summerof69 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:45:49 Heres hoping the ROI beat the Frenchies tonight :D Fully agree Luci. I feel a bit sorry for the ROI, as they've had the holders in Italy in their group, and then in the play-offs they play the runners-up in France. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Luci on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:47:18 I think they've done wonderfully well in a hard group and definitely think they have a chance to get through. It would be sooo sweet to see France not make it to the finals!
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:50:47 I fucking hate France but don't feel sorry for ROI. So what if they had a hard group? Every group is hard and really ROI aren't a WC standard team in all honestly.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: axs on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:55:37 Desailly coming out and saying it wouldn't be a proper world cup without france, and it would be a scandal. hmmm.

Every group is hard and really ROI aren't a WC standard team in all honestly. Our group was a piece of piss in fairness. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:56:21 I've been watching it on the red button with the Welsh commentary. The Welsh language sounds so wierd.
And that Ramsay's a bit special. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Summerof69 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:57:58 Our group was a piece of piss in fairness. By FIFA world rankings when the draw was made, we were in the most difficult group in all WC groupa as Croatia, Ukraine and ourselves were all in the top 12. We were supposedly in the Group of Death !!! Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Langers on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:58:45 Scotland are shtie. It was definatley a penalty which they had turned down.
If ROI can get a lead at home tonight then you never know they could hold out in the 2nd leg. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: axs on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 15:58:49 By FIFA world rankings when the draw was made, we were in the most difficult group in all WC groupa as Croatia, Ukraine and ourselves were all in the top 12. Even though that was funny...not qualifying is even funnier !!! Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Summerof69 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 16:10:11 Anyway back to the Scotland game the ref should've sent of the Scottish keeper for deiberate handball, but only books him.
Scotland should be 5 or 6 down.... Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Spencer_White on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 16:24:19 Is this the end for Burley?
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: pauld on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 16:29:23 He should manage a team that plays that Gaelic version of hockey. Then he could be Hurly Burley
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: nevillew on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 17:28:04 If the next manager does the same would that be Burley-esque ?
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Summerof69 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 17:41:49 The ref in the England game doesn't like blowing his whistle...

Wes Brown is dog shit surely he wont make the final squad, great finish though Just confirmed my earlier pointTitle: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:21:13 tap and barrel is a great shout(will be rockingin there later i reckon)but alas i've just ordered a chinese and got tinnies in for this evening.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:22:46 Just as rocking then mate ;)
Been impressed with Milner Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Saxondale on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:23:07 ITV is wank isnt it. Its like a fucking M and S commercial the way they salivate over Brazil. Jesus Tyledsley they are playing against a team featuring Wes Brown, calm down.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:27:11 I got fed up of it and turned it off.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Nemo on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:31:23 Hulk on. Cue puns.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:33:58 Last time i said this he went and scored but Shaun Wright Phillips never seems to impress me for England.

Title: Re: Internationals Post by: DV on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:39:40 Last time i said this he went and scored but Shaun Wright Phillips never seems to impress me for England. He's no David Beckham is he. If Rooney doesnt play England dont play. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:43:07 Wright philips is shit for england
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:44:34 Some Man City fans would argue he is shit for them aswell
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: JPC82 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:44:58 He's no David Beckham is he. If Rooney doesnt play England dont play. hes no James Milner or Ashley Young either Title: Re: Internationals Post by: DV on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:47:06 Yep, I originally wrote in my post about moving Milner right and giving Young 15 minutes down the left but my laptop fucked up.
I dont understand why Young hasnt had a full game on the left in one of the many pointless friendlies. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: DV on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:49:24 oh, here he is now a whole 6 minutes plus injury time for Young...
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Nemo on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:49:58 The bloody band managed to get to Qatar :/
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:55:41 Brazil don't look anything special. If we'd played Crouch from the start we would have won.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 18:59:54 england are poorish and will be for the forseable future.a few great individuals but no balance.
shite keepers too Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:04:41 Thought we were alright but considering we played a reserve team I wasn't expecting much else. Brazil look very good. Them or Spain for the WC without a doubt.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:20:23 I fucking hate France but don't feel sorry for ROI. So what if they had a hard group? Every group is hard and really ROI aren't a WC standard team in all honestly. Better than a lot of the other teams already qualified I'd hazzard a guess at, New Zealand for sure. I quite like to see other British teams and the ROI doing well, the Irish would be a great addition to the WC as far as I can see it, fans would be good. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Saxondale on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:24:38 hate the fact that they seeded the play offs. The all finished second, they should have been equal but fifa or whoever feel its more important to get france and portugal into the finals than bosnia. Wankers.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: DMR on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:29:54 The only player who looked any good was Milner, pretty gash really but I take comfort in the fact that was basically England B. I hate SWP, Brown, Jenas and Defoe quite alot.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:31:26 Yeah, really dont see how Jenas got in, there must be better options at RB than Brown too, even in GJ's absence?
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Nemo on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:32:19 Luke Young's retired so who's next? Hibbert?
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:38:47 God is it that bad? That sucks balls, dare I say Phil Neville? :grits teeth:
Why is it we always have one position where we have no depth whatsoever? Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:45:46 er. we have more than 1.goal keeper, right back, left back, left mid, centre forward
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:50:59 GK is a given, OK at LB for my money, left mid is ok with people out of position as has been demonstrated thus far under Capello, CF I think we are OKish.
RB is, after GJ, is just a gaping hole. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: jonny72 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 19:57:16 I couldn't be bothered watching the England game, it was all about the money and nothing else.
Unfortunately I've still got the same concerns about England I've had for some time; Lampard and Gerrard will always play no matter what, Crouch will never start, Owen won't be in the squad. We won't have a chance of winning anything without Owen, as apart from Rooney and Crouch no other striker is international level. Sometimes playing Lampard and Gerrard isn't the best option, yet the whoever the England manager is they think it is the best option. Crouch scores a shit load of goals at international level and scares the shit out of most defences, yet is never really considered for the starting eleven. Another summer of discontent is looming. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:00:48 Owen is past it sadly. Not fit enough and nowhere near his old best. I do think people have over reacated. After all we had at least 7 first choice players missing and we were playing the best team in the world who were almost at full strength in tough conditions as well.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Summerof69 on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:02:53 Owen is past it sadly. Not fit enough and nowhere near his old best. I do think people have over reacated. After all we had at least 7 first choice players missing and we were playing the best team in the world who were almost at full strength in tough conditions as well. Fully agree on that. Due to injuries he's lost his pace. He was shit for Newcastle, and if you saw the Champions League game against CSKA, he was shocking. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:11:56 Owen isn't past it, statistically he was the best finisher in the Prem last season, so what if he's not as quick, I'd rather him in and around the 6 yard box than any of our other forwards.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: DMR on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:16:53 I'd definitely still take Owen next summer, he is losing it a bit but I still think he's more likely to put away one chance than Bent or Defoe who seem to need 3 or 4 chances to score 1... I still believe Owen is more clinical
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:20:35 I don't think Brazil are the best team in the world, Spain are better than them.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:26:10 I'd definitely still take Owen next summer, he is losing it a bit but I still think he's more likely to put away one chance than Bent or Defoe who seem to need 3 or 4 chances to score 1... I still believe Owen is more clinical If you mean for Town, then yes, for England a big no. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: adje on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:36:15 I think Wes Brown can book 4 weeks in Majorca next June after that performance.I agree Owen must go-the only England player (apart from Rooney)that's proved himself in a major tornament.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:38:54 owen has missed some right sitters this season.
the fact he's being considered shows how shite the crop of forwards are Title: Re: Internationals Post by: leefer on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 20:58:12 Cant agree arribba..Owns pedigree is shown in the stats, class is always going to rise to the top....everyone thaught Beckham was finished...Owen has got a standing in the game that foreign players will be worried about and respect....all i will say is that hes got to change his style as the pace has gone so hes got to be more of a predator in the box.....not a bad performance by England but just like Swindon its a case of playing ok but not winning the big games.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:07:46 what dont you agree with.the missed sitters or the crap crop of forwards?
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:12:42 there are always missed sitters. Drogba's done it, Torres has done it, why, because he's English, should Owen's missed sitters be worried about?
You'd have Torres and Drogba no question if they were English, no? Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:19:06 of course i'd take both.drogba has missed a few chances, but i dont remeber torres missing them?
i was originally pointing out owen isn't as clinical as we'd like him to be,based on this season anyway. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:21:16 as i said earlier owen was statistically the best finisher in the Prem going by chances scored, that says to me he is clinical?
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:25:42 i strongly doubt he is now.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Kinky Tom on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:29:22 it was last season though, surely he's only going to get better at utd? From half way through the season onward AF always relies more on the squad, owen will get games and will score goals if the service is there, no doubt in my mind.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Batch on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:39:05 France 1-0 up at the republic.
Owen will always be better than Defoe. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: leefer on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:42:04 what dont you agree with.the missed sitters or the crap crop of forwards? The missed sitters....he hasnt missed many sitters in an England shirt...look at his record..brilliant. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: Arriba on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 21:43:54 The missed sitters....he hasnt missed many sitters in an England shirt...look at his record..brilliant. i'm not questioning owens record at all. Title: Re: Internationals Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, November 14, 2009, 23:51:47 Both Beckham and owen are trading on former glories. I'd dump them both. I appreciate they've got tournament experience but Beckham has been shit in every tournamant he's palyed in and whilst Own has been better in tournament play it didn't stop Greece being champions of Europe with fuck all experience.
Title: Re: Internationals Post by: tans on Sunday, November 15, 2009, 14:43:22 wes brown is utter utter shite. that is all i have to say :)
