Title: Billy Paynter Post by: paul_stfc on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 19:22:25 He was our second best player last year and is now our 6th choice striker at the moment. Last year he scored important goals and probably assisted 20 of coxy's goals. I personallly would have him as our 1st choice striker and maybe have Austin playing up top with him.
I am amazed Tope, Peacock and Hutchinson all got the nod before him. What does everyone else think? Title: Re: Billy Paynter Post by: pauld on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 19:24:18 http://thetownend.com/index.php/topic,36309.0.html

Title: Re: Billy Paynter Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 19:43:31 Tbqfh, i would tend to agree. However at the games i've been at this season he's been no better than anyone else. I was at the millwall game wanting him to come on 'cause i thought he'd at least bully the defenders and he did sod all. He's a handfull when on form and confidence is up but when it isn't he's no better than peacock in my honest opinion.
I think he misses cox too Title: Re: Billy Paynter Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 20:00:27 He does miss Cox. What's strange is that when he played as a lone striker he was a lot better. He did look tired in a few of the games he came on as a sub but surely he's back to full fitness and ready to go after being rested for a fair few games now?
Title: Re: Billy Paynter Post by: DV on Monday, October 26, 2009, 18:13:25 Travelling with the reserves to Reading tomorrow.
I guess this could mean two things. Wilson plans to play him and wanted him to get in some game time, maybe a goal for confidence before saturday....or....Wilson doesnt want to risk Lee Peacock in a reserve game Title: Re: Billy Paynter Post by: herthab on Monday, October 26, 2009, 18:31:04 Travelling with the reserves to Reading tomorrow. Let's start some speculation! Title: Re: Billy Paynter Post by: DV on Monday, October 26, 2009, 18:52:25 Here's some speculation - its spelt Austin.
