Title: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, October 23, 2009, 20:59:57 I do my shopping on-line. Its quicker, easier and cheaper than trapsing around a store.
I ordered my shopping yesterday afternoon to be delivered today, between the hours of 7 and 9. It is now 9.55, and i am still without my fare. I rang up the customer service desk to enquire as to where my shopping is, and after spelling my name out SIX FUCKING TIMES to a daft welsh twat, I was informed they would ring the driver and get back to me ASAP. This was over half an hour ago. If there is one thing i hate, it is being kept waiting. I've shopped online plenty of times and online encountered such a wait once before, but this takes the fucking biscuit. Its not the fact i've got nowt to eat that bothers me - My thirst has been quenched and my hunger filled for this evening already. Its the fact that i have bugger all to eat tomorrow, and if my shopping doesn't arrive tonight i have to put all plans i had for tomorrow on hold untill it does. And will i get any financial reperation for this?? Will i buggery. Tesco wankers Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Arriba on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:09:53 maybe the driver broke down?
anyway you should buy it yourself, those shelf pickers pick from the front so it's not as fresh Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: ronnie21 on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:14:26 Don't see how it can be cheaper, don't they charge you £5 for the privilege of having it delivered. Oh and I just heard a daft welsh twat complaining in Tesco about some guy who kept shouting his name down the phone! soapy tit wank
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:15:29 I don't buy much fresh stuff anyway.
Anyways i rang up again and got a nice young man who understood English. Turns out one of the vans broke down so they've had to do the same amount of deliverys with less vans. They don't have a number for this van they think my stuff is on, so i've just got to sit, wait and twiddle my thumbs. On the plus side the nice young man said he'd send me a £10 e-voucher. It will probably only be valid if you buy £100 worth of cabbages, but it's a nice gesture Ronnie - delivery cost £5 at the most, the same as a taxi would, which i'd need if i did the shopping instore Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: leefer on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:15:59 http://www.anorak.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/tesco-porn-drink.jpg
Ordered this an hour ago, just turned up.......no..no..no.....shit,,fucking help!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:22:20 Well an hour later than advertised my cupboard is now fully replenished. Bloke seemed quite apologetic, and i've got a ten pound voucher. Worse things happen at sea i guess
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: leefer on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:30:40 That means you gotta spend another tenner there next week...which means you will probably spend more as well....dont you sense a pattern?
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:39:15 Nooooo, for I am a sly goose
I'll flog the voucher and shop at Asda :) Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: leefer on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:41:49 Nooooo, for I am a sly goose I'll flog the voucher and shop at Asda :) Good on you. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Hammer on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:43:36 What a total fucking bell-end you are. Firstly, go to the store yourself instead of being a lazy bastard. Secondly, it's friday so expect delays with everything. Thirdly, when they say a van has broken down are you gullible enough to believe them ? Fourthly, get a wife or girlfriend. Fifthly, how many STFC fans, or indeed TEFers really give a fuck about your personal shopping habits. Get a life.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: leefer on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:46:26 OOOOOH get you Hammer.........
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: blinkpip on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:47:15 bit nasty there. I enojy davids rants.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bennett on Friday, October 23, 2009, 21:53:08 hahahaha silly Hammer. i'm certainly excited to hear a good rant, especially one that has a happy ending!
once with my online home delivery one day to opt for a 5-7 slot, expecting to be home at 5.10. at five i get an angry helpdesky person from tesco's being mean cos i wasn't home. that's my story :) Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Arriba on Friday, October 23, 2009, 22:04:21 oooh i'm guessing hammer's a bit er hammered.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: leefer on Friday, October 23, 2009, 22:23:54 With his attitude should imagine hes been hammered a few times.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, October 23, 2009, 22:45:25 What brand of toothpaste do you buy Dave?
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Red Frog on Friday, October 23, 2009, 22:54:03 I've thought for a while Hammer would feel much more at home on This Is.
Sharing the frustrations of everyday life with a sympathetic audience :thumb: Getting abusive at fellow TEFers :upsetbye: Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Hammer on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 00:37:25 I've thought for a while Hammer would feel much more at home on This Is. Sharing the frustrations of everyday life with a sympathetic audience :thumb: Getting abusive at fellow TEFers :upsetbye: Oh what a silly Red Frog you are. Jumping at that conclusion with your 39 posts. Or maybe, I just hit the nail on the head ! Abuse on this site ? Nah, your joking surely ? Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Hammer on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 01:07:07 oooh i'm guessing hammer's a bit er hammered. Yes, arriba, I do get hammered when time permits. My friday nights are spent working voluntarily for a battered wives/womens refuge, so if a Tesco van is a little late then it seems quite trivial in the wider scheme of things. In fact, rather boring and self-indulgent. No doubt this incident has been reported on a Facebook status update ! Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: BANGKOK RED on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 03:45:59 My friday nights are spent working voluntarily for a battered wives/womens refuge, In fact, rather boring and self-indulgent. Kettle..... black..... pot. You really are a grade A tit, somebody ban this cunt. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Hammer on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 04:24:10 Kettle..... black..... pot. You really are a grade A tit, somebody ban this cunt. Please elaborate BR. Are you Nick Griffin in disguise. CUNT. Since you are quite happy resorting to that terminology. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: BANGKOK RED on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 04:29:04 Hells bells.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Hammer on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 05:59:11 Hells bells. Hmmm ! What a terrific elaboration. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 07:23:09 I'm sorry
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: ronnie21 on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 09:09:25 Just one point Dave, will you make an apology to "the daft welsh twat" who tried to help you out? :bye:
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Barry Scott on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 10:08:50 On an amusing delivery related note, my sister ordered some stuff from Asda to be delivered and they had none of it available for delivery apart from Kitchen Roll. So, they went to deliver £1 of Kitchen Roll with a £3.50 delivery bill and she went off. Idiots.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: ronnie21 on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 10:31:08 My wife actually works for Tesco (it's ok Dave she's not welsh or works on customer service!!) and I would never have groceries delivered by them unless it was absolutely necessary. The staff that actually pick the orders are timed, they have to complete a set number in an hour. This means they pick the first thing that comes to hand, not check to see if it is fresh, not dented etc. They are also prone to the odd mistake!!
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Batch on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 12:22:16 This means they pick the first thing that comes to hand, not check to see if it is fresh, not dented etc. They are also prone to the odd mistake!! Amen to that. Gave up after getting a few 'fresh' items that were a day or so before use by. They gave refunds but we needed to go to a supermarket to replace the item, defeating the purpose of online shopping. But if Dave doesn't buy fresh produce then its great! Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: jonny72 on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 12:25:08 They gave refunds but we needed to go to a supermarket to replace the item, defeating the purpose of online shopping. Did you charge them for delivery? They charge you, so surely you can charge them to take items back? Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Div on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 13:11:05 I like Hammer,
I don't see why everyone else has a problem with the truth. You are all aware that this is the real-world? Thought not. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Arriba on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 13:23:11 I like Hammer, I don't see why everyone else has a problem with the truth. You are all aware that this is the real-world? Thought not. what the fuck are you going on about? Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: BANGKOK RED on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 13:24:40 I like Hammer, I don't see why everyone else has a problem with the truth. You are all aware that this is the real-world? Thought not. And what about his views on racial hatred, do you agree with those as well? Os that a 'truth' that we should all be OK with? Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 13:44:30 Asda home delivery is usually pretty good. Dave still hasn't told me what brand of toothpaste he buys.
Let's not start another cross-thread lynching, it's fucking embarrassing. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Arriba on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 13:48:39 come off it si,it's hardly that is it?unless i've missed something.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 14:00:10 It was pretty poor how every thread Ironside posted in turned into "you're a big bad racist" and "I'm just telling it how it is" type thread. I assume the reference is to the BNP thread, which admittedly I have only read in passing.
I can just see the same happening again. Keep it to the relevant threads so I don't miss any exciting news of Dave's shopping habits. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Div on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 14:25:13 And what about his views on racial hatred, do you agree with those as well? Os that a 'truth' that we should all be OK with? I've not seen anything he's written other than whats on this thread...i was referring to the comments on this thread, not another thread - if i wanted to comment on another thread, i'd do it on that thread; that's seems the most logical way to go about such things. Do you agree? Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Freddies Ferret on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 14:27:27 Alot of handbags on the TEF these days! Sad times :(
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Arriba on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 15:05:51 div i still dont get what you were on about.your first post was a bit confusing.
hammer didn't have to post in response to dave, if it wasn't something he saw as important. there are plenty of threads like that on here with posters moans and rants. whether you think hammer was right or not is your business, and you are entitled to an opinion. that said,i didn't see anyone with a problem nor lacking a grasp of reality. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: pauld on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 15:34:01 I think div should get a slot on Question Time to defend his posting record
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: DMR on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 16:00:56 Dave you're a disappointment, what are you doing in on a Friday night waiting for fucking grocery shopping at yooooni when surely you must have some dosh left?
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 16:04:15 I think he's on work placement in Slough. I wouldn't want to go out in Slough.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: DMR on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 16:05:47 Ah, fair point.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 16:19:19 Yeah i'm on my todd in slough. Waiting for the groceries is as exciting as it gets.
To answer your question Si, my toothpaste of choice is the stripey colgate. Though i will switch brands should money dictate Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 16:33:04 Alot of handbags on the TEF these days! Sad times :( indeed. nothing worthwhile reading nowadays either.Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 16:44:37 Yeah i'm on my todd in slough. Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: ron dodgers on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 19:13:33 I'd heard he was slightly incontinent
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: pauld on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 23:52:55 I'd heard he was slightly incontinent All too common side-effect of excessive "male G-spot" sphinctoral abuse. Tragic in its way, but that trigger ain't made for pulling too oftenTitle: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Doore on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 00:02:43 Back on subject, I wouldn't ever trust the delivery service, you need to go yourself to ensure you are getting the best product for your money. For instance, purchasing a rump steak online you could get any old rump steak - you'll probably end up with the one with a massive streak of tough fat through the middle, whereas the guy who went to the supermarket got the similarly priced, very tender piece. Equally, you will never get the freshest fruit and veg, which really does make a difference - both health-wise and flavour-wise.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 00:15:42 I've used tescos delivery service about 100 times and find they are very good. Never noticed anything not being fresh and they were only late once and gave me a discount when they were. I like how it only takes 5 minutes when it takes an hour in the shop, time is money.

Its really not an issue for me Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Doore on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 11:31:14 The real issue then Dave is that you need to eat more fresh food!
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: BANGKOK RED on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 11:36:39 Yeah Dave, you need more fresh food. Such as peas, fresh straight from the can.
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 11:57:12 I buy fresh onions and apples and stuff from the shop round the corner. I'm not a total mug
Title: Re: Tesco - A rant Post by: The Grim Reaper on Sunday, October 25, 2009, 17:36:10 A couple of years ago in an attempt to avoid the Christmas food shop instore I thought i'd try the online delivery service from Sainsbury's (was also trying to impress the new g/f by having lots of nice Sainsbury's food rather than the usual Tesco/Asda stuff I buy!) My only complaint I had was the sprouts i ordered for the Christmas dinner appeared missing, then i found a small bag with ONE SPROUT in! WTF? Seriously WTF? Why would anyone pick and send me just one fucking sprout! Even more annoyingly was I had to join the thousands of people shopping in the local Asda store just to get sprouts!
