I do my shopping on-line. Its quicker, easier and cheaper than trapsing around a store.

I ordered my shopping yesterday afternoon to be delivered today, between the hours of 7 and 9. It is now 9.55, and i am still without my fare.

I rang up the customer service desk to enquire as to where my shopping is, and after spelling my name out SIX FUCKING TIMES to a daft welsh twat, I was informed they would ring the driver and get back to me ASAP. This was over half an hour ago.

If there is one thing i hate, it is being kept waiting. I've shopped online plenty of times and online encountered such a wait once before, but this takes the fucking biscuit.

Its not the fact i've got nowt to eat that bothers me - My thirst has been quenched and my hunger filled for this evening already. Its the fact that i have bugger all to eat tomorrow, and if my shopping doesn't arrive tonight i have to put all plans i had for tomorrow on hold untill it does. And will i get any financial reperation for this?? Will i buggery.

Don't see how it can be cheaper, don't they charge you £5 for the privilege of having it delivered.  Oh and I just heard a daft welsh twat complaining in Tesco about some guy who kept shouting his name down the phone!  soapy tit wank

I don't buy much fresh stuff anyway.

Anyways i rang up again and got a nice young man who understood English. Turns out one of the vans broke down so they've had to do the same amount of deliverys with less vans. They don't have a number for this van they think my stuff is on, so i've just got to sit, wait and twiddle my thumbs.

On the plus side the nice young man said he'd send me a £10 e-voucher. It will probably only be valid if you buy £100 worth of cabbages, but it's a nice gesture


Ronnie -  delivery cost £5 at the most, the same as a taxi would, which i'd need if i did the shopping instore

Well an hour later than advertised my cupboard is now fully replenished. Bloke seemed quite apologetic, and i've got a ten pound voucher. Worse things happen at sea i guess

 Yes, arriba, I do get hammered when time permits. My friday nights are spent working voluntarily for a battered wives/womens refuge, so if a Tesco van is a little late then it seems quite trivial in the wider scheme of things. In fact, rather boring and self-indulgent. No doubt this incident has been reported on a Facebook status update !

On an amusing delivery related note, my sister ordered some stuff from Asda to be delivered and they had none of it available for delivery apart from Kitchen Roll. So, they went to deliver £1 of Kitchen Roll with a £3.50 delivery bill and she went off. Idiots.

My wife actually works for Tesco (it's ok Dave she's not welsh or works on customer service!!) and I would never have groceries delivered by them unless it was absolutely necessary.  The staff that actually pick the orders are timed, they have to complete a set number in an hour.  This means they pick the first thing that comes to hand, not check to see if it is fresh, not dented etc.  They are also prone to the odd mistake!!

Amen to that. Gave up after getting a few 'fresh' items that were a day or so before use by. They gave refunds but we needed to go to a supermarket to replace the item, defeating the purpose of online shopping.

But if Dave doesn't buy fresh produce then its great!

Did you charge them for delivery? They charge you, so surely you can charge them to take items back?

Asda home delivery is usually pretty good. Dave still hasn't told me what brand of toothpaste he buys.

Back on subject, I wouldn't ever trust the delivery service, you need to go yourself to ensure you are getting the best product for your money.  For instance, purchasing a rump steak online you could get any old rump steak - you'll probably end up with the one with a massive streak of tough fat through the middle, whereas the guy who went to the supermarket got the similarly priced, very tender piece.  Equally, you will never get the freshest fruit and veg, which really does make a difference - both health-wise and flavour-wise.

I've used tescos delivery service about 100 times and find they are very good. Never noticed anything not being fresh and they were only late once and gave me a discount when they were. I like how it only takes 5 minutes when it takes an hour in the shop, time is money.

I think the only thing i buy that can be classed as fresh is cheese. Its really not an issue for me

A couple of years ago in an attempt to avoid the Christmas food shop instore I thought i'd try the online delivery service from Sainsbury's (was also trying to impress the new g/f by having lots of nice Sainsbury's food rather than the usual Tesco/Asda stuff I buy!) My only complaint I had was the sprouts i ordered for the Christmas dinner appeared missing, then i found a small bag with ONE SPROUT in! WTF? Seriously WTF? Why would anyone pick and send me just one fucking sprout! Even more annoyingly was I had to join the thousands of people shopping in the local Asda store just to get sprouts!
