Title: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: BelfastRobin on Friday, October 23, 2009, 16:12:49 After a year or 2 of regularly following the news/views/general junk that gets posted on here, I've decided to finally join this forum.
Yes, I am a 20 year old Swindon Town fan called Calum from Belfast who goes through the same shite and misery as the rest of you's. I go to Univeristy in Preston and make as many away games as I can, (as you guessed mainly in the Northern region) and yes being a Swindon fan in Belfast growing up was not fun, but there are those that regularly look out for Swindon scores back home and feel my pain (usually around 4.49 when the other team tends to score.) But anyways this is just an introduction incase your wondering who that BelfastRobin muppet that keeps posting crap is. Title: Re: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, October 23, 2009, 16:13:56 ooooh do you know Johno?? he goes to Preston Uni? I think???
Title: Re: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: pauld on Friday, October 23, 2009, 16:14:07 So how did you end up being a Swindon fan then? None of my damn business so feel free to tell me to sod off but just curious is all
Title: Re: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: BelfastRobin on Friday, October 23, 2009, 16:16:17 Yeah I could have done with making that clear. But I was born there! Moved to Belfast after I was just a wee nipper
Title: Re: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: Doore on Friday, October 23, 2009, 16:17:23 I did wonder as well, we don't get many fans from far and wide.
Welcome. If you talk as much crap as you infer you will fit in well here. Title: Re: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: BelfastRobin on Friday, October 23, 2009, 16:21:11 ooooh do you know Johno?? he goes to Preston Uni? I think??? Was introduced to him today Ironically enough, does the same course as me and I'm repeating 2nd year! Someone to go to matches with at last. Though my away record is such that I should certainly stay away from all future games coming up my way! Title: Re: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: Nomoreheroes on Friday, October 23, 2009, 16:32:59 Yeah I could have done with making that clear. But I was born there! Title: Re: Greetings from a Long-term Follower Post by: Ardiles on Friday, October 23, 2009, 20:07:31 There's a chap called Gary from Belfast who I end up meeting about once every couple of seasons in the Glue Pot. A couple of times a year he flies in to Bristol for the day, train to Swindon, beers, game, train, plane and home by midnight. That's a cracking day out. He did tell me how it was he ended up supporting the Town, but I've forgotten.
So you're not alone. Certainly not come across him but all these comments and contacts from Norn Iron are perhaps calling for a Swindon Supporters Club in Belfast City Centre!
