A bloke I worked with had to have a testicle removed following a sporting accident. A few people always called him Orinoco after that, I wasn't one of them though as it seemed a bit tactless. Plus I didn't get it until someone explained it to me.

it's blatantly obvious amankwaa said something that harris took great offence of.

Despite that article being a terrible piece of journalism, whether he said something or not this is bad press for the club.

I wouldn't say anything is obvious with the Millwall players as they were gobbing off at every opportunity, I don't think I've seen a less professional outfit since Wimbledon. Their whole gameplan was about intimidation and it sadly got them a point by using these tactics.

If that was a Millwall 'fan' with that quote, then he would've had supersonic hearing as the incident took place close to the half way line and not 50 yards away where the Millwall 'fans' were.

i was watching harris and amankwaa having verbals.it looked like the usual handbags until harris went mental.it took a while to develop into harris going loopy.

Harris himself doesnt not mentions cancer or balls at all.

From the Mirror article it says :

A supporter, who watched the game from the stands, revealed: "I was right in front of it and Amankwaah shouted something about having 'one ball' at Harris. I've never seen him react like that."

That's what I was getting when I was saying if it was a Millwall 'fan' who heard that as the Mirror doesn't say from which fans the supporter was from.

The Harris Bloke ran from quite far away up to Amankwaah didnt he?? well not quite far away but they werent stood close and all of a sudden he just flipped and ran right up to him

I know it's a big deal, cancer, but is it really a big deal as in the actual event on the pitch?  Who really cares, there isn't a law against it.  Materazzi has hardly spent the last couple of years in the footballing wilderness for being a bit tasteless to a world footballing icon.  I'm also inclined to think a Vinnie Jones style character would have pretended to miss the missing bollock in a Gazza style grab, then spend the rest of the game swearing in Bollock related swear words only.

I tto fail to see what the bg deal is. Even if true, I don't see what the problem is. I'm sure Amankwaah gets more serious (racial) abuse than that (in particular when playing at Millwall), & doesn't react.
I wonder what the world is coming too when things get so PC you can't say anything to anyone without being hung drawn & quartered.
Just makes me think that Harris is either a big dirls blouse who can't take a bit of ribbing on a football pitch, or he's a lying bastard who is trying to get a fellow proffesional into trouble. (Like their number 26 did on Douglas).

Personally I think joking about cancer is pretty poor form. Not saying that is what happened though.

Mind you, whilst playing the worst reaction I saw was to a "your dad..." comment. The guy who made it didn't know but the other players dad had died earlier in the week. Duck and cover.

I agree, same as if racist comments had been made towards Amankwaah then we would have been up in arms about it, as indeed some Swindon fans have been today.

Still, at least it makes the Millwall away trip a little more lively

That's fair enough as that was literally below the belt. Still, as terrible an ordeal for Harris his illness was (and I have great sympathy for him) it does not automatically make him a saint or stop him from having a gobby cockney twat moment, which he had not one minute before this incident which in turn leads to things being said in the heat of the moment (no excuse for that though Manky) ! As the ref started the feistiness in the first place with his inept display it would have been best for all if he'd sent himself off !...IMO

I see your point, and agree with you to some extent, but from Kev's point of view, he's saying he's been racially provoked and physically attacked, and is coming out as the bad guy for a poor choice of how to react to it. If people were threatening to run onto a football pitch to "get me" because I reacted badly to racist remarks, I think I'd feel a bit upset too.

Oh dear this getting to be a mess now.

I've no idea if Amankwaah has been racially abused or not - a disgrace if he has, but claim and counter-claim is only going to result in 'a plague on both your houses'.

The way I read the whole situation is that he originally came out and said it was banter, thinking it would just boil over.  Then Harris and/or the mystery Millwall fan started commenting to the press so Big Kev decided to issue an apology thinking it would calm the situation.

However it seems Harris or someone hasn't accepted his apology and won't let it lie so because of this Manky has decided to take it further and go into more detail about what happened.

I'd suggest if the club are releasing so many statements about the matter then they've got more evidence than just Kevin's word?

He hasn't necessarily lied about any of it. Its more than possible he was just trying to play down the whole thing as he didn't want to make a big issue out of it, but others have kept it going so now he's coming out with what actually happened - according to him.

Smells fishier than Bob Nudd's pants. I don't think he's telling the truth.

I don't think we should let that get in the way of pitch invasion at the end of the Millwall game where we all give Harris a good seeing to (no cheap shots though), while the Millwall fans are seeing to Amankwaah.  Surely that's how things are resolved?
