Barnes doesn't surprise me in the slightest.  Taylor did surprise me but their start has been poor.

I hope the Barnes issue doesn't become a race debate - I do think the lack of black managers in the game is shocking, but in this particular case it is clearly based on nothing more than results.

I don't think it will end up a race debate, just the fact that Barnes is a shit manager and will never be anything more than a pundit and an ambassador for the World Cup 2018.

In fairness, I wouldn't say 11 games into the season is a fair crack of the whip - but to have a GD of -17 by this stage suggests they're doing something fundamentally wrong (i.e. not defending!).

Peter taylor has gone from Wycombe too! Slightly more surprised by that than the Barnes/Mcateer situation, but given Taylors previous record of going when the going gets tough, its not that much of a surprise!

Makes me glad that the board decided not to follow up on him as an option, would probably have walked before the end of last season!!!

I think bringing in new fans (or getting old ones to come back) is best achieved by winning games and moving up the table.

On the Football League show last night on Sky (where they also had an article on STFC, holders of the longest unbeaten run in the FL - that's jinxed it then) they were talking about the Barnes sacking and is ALWAYS the case they were taken the "Oooooh, he just didn't get enough time, fans/directors want instant results" tack. Why can't they just acknowledge that sometimes managers actually DESERVE to get sacked. Barnes being a case in point. He is a shit awful manager who should never have been appointed in the first place. The Directors want shooting for giving him the job in the first place
