I met him in the pub during the closed season and had a good chat with him where he told me that his first op wasn't sucessfull, and that if the 2nd one didn't work his career would be over.  I was then highly amused when he told his missus to "shut up" as she was trying to get him into a taxi!
He seems to genuinely happy with us, and the time he spent yapping with me gave me the impression he had real time time for fans who pay his wages and wasn't an egotistical tosser like a lot of footballers nowadays.

Good to see him making his way back!

My belief is that Lee Peacock, as popular as he may be, is finished as a professional footballer.

He is a genuine decent bloke. But sadly I think his playing days are over.

if he played and it went ok why is his career over?
i dont see his future here, but at a league 2 club he'd be a decent signing.

I think he needs one more chance at least?

this time last year JPM had no future at STFC but now he's a fundamental part of our team.

Ok he's not had the injuries LP has had but peacock has the right attitude and could get himeslf back fitter and better than before. i'm hoping he does.

I hope he makes it back and I think he definitely has a part to play this season.

Don’t forget strip our loan signings and we’re still only (albeit only technically) left with just one recognised senior striker in the squad  and Peacock as a senior player can definitely play a key part this season even if it is coming from the bench or starting a handful of games.

I think we’re all too often very keen to send players off down the knacker’s yard once they hit 30 or suffer a poor injury.  Sometimes rightly so but in the case of the Cock as Fatbury says to all the schoolgirls, a little experience goes a long way *wink*.

It'll be like a new signing!

Lee Peacock is close to 33 years of age and has fitness issues - with respect JPM was simply out of form and is still just over a year away from 30.

I'm not saying that a professional footballers career is over when you turn 33, many players have proven otherwise but with the type of injury problems as Peacock as sustained?

Peacock is an old favourite of Danny Wilson's and I'm sure he might try and use him.

Lee Peacock is more than welcome to prove me wrong on this and I really hope he does.

As our (alleged) top earner, we'd probably be better off with him off the wage bill.

Doctor told him a month or two ago that his career was over. Needless to say he is delighted to be back in bibs.

Incidentally Kanyuka and Brez are still hanging around town, neither of whom are, to my knowledge, playing football at present.

Serves Kanyuka right, all he needed to do was contact the club over the summer.

Did nothing come of Brezovan's trial with Dagenham & Redbridge?

Zaaboub is another reasonable performer without a club: after being told by Walsall that he could come and train with them in the summer, he messed them about a bit, so they told him not to bother.

Silly boy.

I doubt that to be correct some how.

Even more so with Lucas and Douglas coming in over the summer, dont imagine they came cheap!

As for Zaaboub sign him on a short term contract then when he plays amazingly well like he did last time, offer him another short term contract - so he has to keep playing for his future!!

Didn't Zaaboub refuse to sign for Walsall because he wanted a Championship club? I wonder if the penny's dropped yet.

How Brezovan hasnt found a club amazes me. Ok so he's lost that sparkling form since he broke his arm but he is still a decent keeper. Especially for a league 2 club!

Who knows, he could become a rejuvenated player like McGovern and play an important part in the season. I hope so anyway, always thought he gives 100% and on his day can be a really good player.

My man in the know tells me that Brezovan is training with Chippenham, and is hoping to sign for Forest Green.

But you didn't hear that from me.

Good luck to Peacock,I know it shouldnt come into it but I quite like him because he has at least half a personality.Nobody else in our team does, infact no one has since Mooney left.Im sure every football team used to have a "character" I suppose those days are gone and it makes me sad. Identikit footballing "units" to use Wilsons own phrase.
