Title: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: Moneton on Friday, September 11, 2009, 11:52:19 Hello Guys/Gals, being a proud Scot but married to a Swindon lass. I'm always dragging her to see my beloved Greenock Morton!! However after years of nagging am now converted and will soon be taking in my first game at Norwich City in a month or so.
T'is only an 8hr commute from sunny Scotland!! I've got my hotels and replica kit sorted but have a few questions which hopefully you guys can help... 1. How do I get tickets for away end?? 2. What kind of support will you/we have?? 3. Is there a traditional meeting place/pub for away fans? 4. On a scale of 1-10, what level of abuse would i get with my kilt on? 5. Am we the only members of the Tartan Swindon Supporters? 6. Is Delia really a loony? Cheers Danny Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: Ralphy on Friday, September 11, 2009, 11:54:49 1) Phone STFC

1) Phone STFC Box Office and they should post some to you 2) Hard to say as we haven't played there for ages, hopefully 1000+ though 3) No, as I said we haven't played there for ages. However, if you look on here in the weeks prior to the game, people will decide on somewhere to meet and you'd be more than welcome to join us all 4) Spot on Ralphy, 10 5) No, there are plenty on this site alone 6) Yes Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: Ardiles on Friday, September 11, 2009, 12:19:00 My father in law is a Morton fan, but I've still not (after 6 years of regular trips to Dunoon) managed a game at Cappielow. I was hoping you were going to stuff Oxford in pre-season, but sadly it wasn't to be.
Personally, I'd try the kilt thing. Why not? They've probably never even seen one in Norfolk. probably have the locals pointing at you and get your picture in the local paper. Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: Ralphy on Friday, September 11, 2009, 12:24:01 Or chasing him with pitch forks thinking he's some sort of Alien.
They have only just got Cars in Norfolk. Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, September 11, 2009, 12:29:39 probably have the locals pointing at you . I bet that's tricky with webbed fingers Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: suttonred on Friday, September 11, 2009, 12:53:31 To question 3 are you going in to London or directly to Norwich? If the former some of us london based meet up before heading off. On 4 if you wear a kilt and hear the name leroy, run, very fast.
Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: Summerof69 on Friday, September 11, 2009, 13:02:12 Personally, I'd try the kilt thing. Why not? They've probably never even seen one in Norfolk. They probably name you as Miss Norwich 2009 !! Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: larwood on Friday, September 11, 2009, 16:02:35 I went to Glasgow last season and we made the trip to watch Greenock Morton play. Was the last game, they were pants and lost.
Still the ground was good and getting the cheerleades to dance in torrential rain was amusing. Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: michael on Friday, September 11, 2009, 16:44:26 After our [seemingly endless] recruitment campaign north of the border there are now more pissheads in the Swindon Town team than Greenock Norton. Probably.
Good to see us stealing other club's fans. Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: pauld on Sunday, September 13, 2009, 11:55:36 They probably name you as Miss Norwich 2009 !! 1809, they've got some catching up to do. Or burn him as a witchTitle: Re: Norwich v. Title: Re: Norwich v. Swindon Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Sunday, September 20, 2009, 18:15:22 Just looked at train prices, cheapest from Chippenham is £42 (two singles) - I would have given it a miss at that price but I'm hoping to tie it in with visiting a friend that weekend, and going down on the friday, returning saturday evening is the same price as leaving saturday morning! So I think £42 represents decent value in that respect.

Haha STA is right I was born in Greenock, near the Larkfield area and still follow Morton although they have had a shoddy start to the season. Thankfully they have now fired Irons and will hopefully now appoint a good manager to start the charge up the league. |
