No chance I shouldn't think Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Dozno9 on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 09:00:11 Much ado about nothing, I hope...

Wilson could never top what he achieved at Barnsley first time around. Sounds as if Robins will be getting the job anyway.
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: ghanimah on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 09:37:05 Phrases like "Wilson remains tightlipped" and "won't rule a move out" all seems to be silly season stuff. Managers rarely, if ever, give shermanesque 'no never' answers to these types of questions. I'm not worried (yet)
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: magic8ball on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 09:42:33 In a way, I'm not too worried. Even if he did go, I'd imagine we are quite an attractive proposition for an out of work manager, or a manager at another club.
We're being run in a professional way, and are bringing in players when other teams are not able to. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Ralphy on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 10:50:50 FFS. For once I'm genuinely pleased with our manager and now the rumours have started of him leaving :(
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Arriba on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 10:52:19 if he goes i wont really care.we'd get compo for him, and there are plenty of bosses with simliar credentials available.
would prefer him to stay to see if he can build something here though. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Batch on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 10:53:54 If he went I'd be very worried.
But nothing to stress over yet... Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Ralphy on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 10:57:37 I don't think we'd be able to attract a manager better than Danny Wilson to be honest. He
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: The Artist Billy Paynter on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 12:52:47 Hope he stays put!
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Power to people on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 13:07:49 I can't see Barnsley wanting him back to be honest, yep ok he may have been their most successful (sp?) manager but he hasn't exatly ripped up any tree's since he left them, so he has not really proved himself either way since he left, I'd class him as a jouneyman manager who goes into clubs has a bit of success and then it all fades, but with a little support and a little money like he is getting now he may disprove that myth and have a really successful stint with us and go on to be a top manager.
But Barnsley are talking to Mark Robbins now anyway so I suspect he is their No 1 target. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: DV on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 13:12:03 Hmmmm, I think he'll go - purely because this is Swindon and just when it looks like the manager has started building a decent team he fucks off ala Wise and Sturrock.
I know, I know different board and all that. Dont see going to Barnsley as a step up either to be honest. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 13:20:53 Robins has gone on "gardening leave" so it looks like a done deal with Rotherham.
Wouldn't be the end of the world to lose Wilson but I'm happy enough with how he's doing and slowly coming round to him. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 13:26:04 Although Robins looks odds on to be new manager at the Tykes......they are apparently on the lookout for a Director of Football and Kidd and Wilson have both been touted as possible fillers of this vacancy.
I truly hope not though as I think DW will do well for us. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: pauld on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 14:19:32 Robins has gone on "gardening leave" so it looks like a done deal with Rotherham. Maybe he's sorting out Rotherham's pitch?Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Power to people on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 15:04:44 Maybe he's sorting out Rotherham's pitch? Nah, he's gone to the Garden Centre for plants surely ? Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 15:38:15 "Gardening leave" is nothing more than a euphemism for sitting at home while the wife is at work and masturbating like a safari park chimp.
Green fingers indeed. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: nevillew on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 15:44:10 "Gardening leave" is nothing more than a euphemism for sitting at home while the wife is at work and masturbating like a safari park chimp. That would make the wife popular with her colleagues, I'm sureGreen fingers indeed. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 16:00:05 So Barnsley have approached The Robins about Wilson...good we can get Sturrock or Wise back.
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Ralphy on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 17:30:39 Get Glenn Hoddle back.
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 17:36:22 I really don't see anyone else doing any better than Wilson.
It wouldn't be a disaster if he went but I hope he doesn't as it is not what the club needs right now. Most importantly. I could not be fucked with more pissing around like when Malpas went. Anywhoo...sounds like Robbins is going to get it, so onwards and upwards.... Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Spencer_White on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 17:54:44 Over his career I think Wilson has been a bit of a slow starter. Quite often he's struggled for 12 months then really started to come on after that with consistant improvement. Some clubs he hasnt survived that initial patch.
Maybe its because he's not such a ranter in the dressing room? Someone like Allen goes in there and goes ballistic, but it only works for so long. I always thought that Wilson's first 4 months here would decide whether he was a success or a failure. I think keeping us up last season will be the pivotal moment in his time at STFC. Im a firm believer he's taking us places now. Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Spencer_White on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 18:05:21 Besides, the headline for that story couldjust have easily been 'Wilson ignores Barnsley, outlines his County Ground visions'.
Title: Re: Wilson to Barnsley Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 19:14:39 That would make the wife popular with her colleagues, I'm sure Begs the question how does a female safari park chimp masturbate?
