Title: Re: Colchester Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 10:04:56 Have appointed Aidy Boothroyd as new manager. Yes, I think Other Football Stuff should probably have been the most apt place to put this. But on the grand scheme of things, who really gives a fuck. Title: Re: Colchester Post by: jonny72 on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 10:08:14 Didn't Boothroyd say he was too good for League One when we were looking for a new manager?
Title: Re: Colchester Post by: Peter Venkman on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 15:54:07 Didn't Boothroyd say he was too good for League One when we were looking for a new manager? I think you remember correctly Jonny. He should do well there. Title: Re: Colchester Post by: The Professor on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 16:50:48 I too thought Boothroyd was waiting for a Championship job to become available when we were looking for a manager & considered that we were beneath him. Still, nothing like a year's unemployment for concentrating the mind! Interesting to see how he does there - they'll be in your face & hard to beat I'd have thought.
Title: Re: Colchester Post by: michael on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 17:18:52 Fair play to Boothroyd for dropping down to take this one on.
Meanwhile, Steve Cotterill is still un-employed. Title: Re: Colchester Post by: pauld on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 18:19:34 General Discussion? You're having a mare with your thread placement at the moment! No wonder he lost his walletTitle: Re: Colchester Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 18:27:40 :D Indeed.
Title: Re: Colchester Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 19:12:20 No wonder he lost his wallet That was actually down to a wardrobe malfunction with an undiscovered broken zip on my shorts. I am generally pretty good with not losing things. On that note, got something through the post for me to collect something from the post office. I am not expecting a parcel so I am thinking that it can only be that someone has found my wallet and handed it in to the Post Office. Fingers crossed, sames me having to fuck about with driving licences. Title: Re: Colchester Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 19:38:37 Boothroyd's finally realised he needs a job and isn't going to get on in the CCC. Only took him a year or 2.
Title: Re: Colchester Post by: Rich Pullen on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 19:43:02 But at least he came to that conclusion... As Michael pointed out, look at Steve Cotterill - his situation hasn't been helped by what Owen Coyle achieved afterwards but if the guy wants to manage I honestly think he'll be lucky to get a League One team now.
