Title: Wilson's Praise For Jean-Francois
Post by: RJack on Thursday, August 20, 2009, 18:15:50
Interesting comments on the O/S about him from DW

I personally think he is getting better each game. Just needs to cut out the silly bookings.

Agreed. We tried to start a Jean-Francois chant on tuesday but it didn't catch on. The J-FL fanclub grows.

Even his "hoooofs" were finding a man!

Loved it when Greer gave him a bit of an ear bashing, then later on in the game it was Jean-Francois who was delivering a verbal confrontation to Timlin and Douglas. I think it highlighted how much everyone was switched on for that game.

I'm surprised he's only 21 years old! I thought he was a lot older....He's still learnin the game, and from what i've seen of him so far, i'm quite impressed judging by his lack of experience. The way he got booked on Tuesday made me laugh though...!

Thus far, there are times when LJF looks an awesome beast then others where he looks terrible.

I can see what Wilson means, but it's like the proper Beast, somehow he just couldn't grasp the mental side....time will tell with LJF.

It's refreshing that a player has come in as a development project and there are some signs that it's working.

Just goes to show how poor Hamdi Razak must have been :)

He looks a class act from what i've seen. Can certainly play at a higher level, can see what Wilson saw in him to keep him on.
His passing and long ball play is excellent.

He was very good on Tuesday I thought. He's very raw at times but he's starting to go past players easily when attacking, and getting better at the positional side of things. He has even shown glimpses of having good technical ability with cheeky back heels to get away from the tackles. I can't imagine many wingers will enjoy playing against him as he's a big old unit,  has the pace to keep up with them and they must know at some point he is going to nail them in a challenge.

Hopefully the first couple of games were early season nerves and he'll really start to push on, if he gets the positional side sorted and he learns when to attack and when to hoof it he could turn out to be a bit of a find.

It's just "Jean-Francois, Jean-Francois" on repeat. I can't think of any other chant that uses the tune, but it is one you all know. Damn my drug addled brain for making me forget everything.

I was sober and heard it and I don't think I can remember it. Although I'm inclined to think it may have been similar to the one they do at Anfield: Liver-pool, Liver-pool?

I could have possibly made it all up.

As in "on the pitch",  or "let him die" ?

We should get the club to play some 90s Euro dance music and sing Jean-Francois (Encore Une Fois) at timed intervals
