TOWN are due to complete the loan signing of Bolton striker Temitope Obadeyi today, and boss Danny Wilson admits he could feature against Franchise this weekend.

The England Under 20 international will put pen to paper on an initial one-month temporary deal and goes straight into contention for tomorrow’s League One clash in a timely boost to Swindon’s forward options.

Wilson revealed yesterday he was set to land one of his original summer targets, but remained tight-lipped over the front man’s identity.

However, the Advertiser understands it is Trotters teenager Obadeyi, who was plucked from Coventry’s academy in 2006.

Although his first team experience at the Reebok Stadium has been limited to just three substitute appearances, 19-year-old Obadeyi has excelled at international level with five goals in four appearances for England under 19s, and one goal from his two showings at under 20 level.

That strike for the under 20s came on Tuesday night as England saw off Montenegro 5-0 at The Hawthorns, and Wilson believes Town will have a real talent on their hands.

I wonder about our finances presently....was it a case of Jerel had to be shifted before Obadeyi could be brought in?  Also Wilson is now saying he expects one possibly 2 others in....given that TO is short term, it will still leave us with a thin squad (thankfully it looks like talk of Trundle has been shelved)

Or it may be we have an option to extend on TO when he gets back from the U20s, so one if he does come back all season, 2 if we don't. I don't know that "staying within a budget" is really that much cause for concern is it? Tends to be the opposite that gets you in trouble

We'll see...hopefully we can start to pick up a few points now, while we have another striker. Hopefully TO is decent our last players from Bolton's youth set up were Ricky Shakes and Charlie Comyn-Platt  :)

Our finances must have been a lot worse last season, yet we were still able to bring some players in on loan. I'd imagine our wage bill is currently lower as well, so I can't see the finances being an issue.

I reckon that Trundle would be here now if his salary was lower, its not that we can't afford Trundle more a case of Trundle not being worth what he'd cost us. We've probably got Odadeyi for a fraction of what Trundle would cost.

That made my mind sing "I can't dance" by Genesis! :D

I think participation in the U20 tournament is down to the club managers to release their players, so with Megson wanting him to get first team experience of playing week in week out perhaps he may decide he is better staying at Swindon in the 1st team, and he only seems to be a sub at u-20 level as well, so may decide himself to stay if he is playing and scoring, I suspect he will be signed until January whether he goes with the u-20's or not and review it in January.

If all the hype is to be believed this could be a great coup,as he's rated one of the brightest prospects in the country. although only for a month initially there will prob be scope to extend that.
Hopefully the month that he's initially here will give danny the time to get the perm signings in that he mentions.

According to the Bolton fans he has a lot of potential, bags of pace and strength, too good for the reserves but not ready for the first team yet.

Apparently is a lot like Michael Ricketts, his pace flatters but can run around in circles a lot.

He sounds like just what we need though IMO, speedy and getting into scoring positions, scored goals at every level for Bolton/Coventry/England....up to first team level anyway, never been given a chance in the first team as yet...3 sub appearances.

I'm afraid Bolton haven't sent him here to do US any favours. Should he perform well, Megson will recommend the U20 tourno to judge his ability against other 'exciting prospects'. A recall to Bolton would maybe seem inevitable given their own 'striker crisis'. It's Catch 22 really : if he's crap over 6 games we keep him to let him develop. If he's any good then he returns to Bolton. A good fill in nonetheless.

Anyway let's hope that the lad plays well, scores a sack full of goals & we get to keep him for the season.
But if not and it ends up that we only get him for a month, at least it gives DW the opportunity to get in someone on a permanent basis.

I'm worried about DV, for such a young man being so depressed all the time is scary.

Yes I agree with Glos_Robin. We definately need a really good left fullback & anotherr striker but hopefully this new Bolton striker will come though tomorrow, we will win the game & then DW will manage to get both another defender & a new striker very shortly. Thik we all need to be positive.

It's been a while since we brought somone in for a month and a month only, Sam Collins was possibly our last one almost 2 years ago. Before that was Grimes, James and Partridge who came in on the same day.

Tudor-jones and/or HRK were signed for a month originally i do believe.

Which is why I put players who arrived "in for a month and a month only".

They arrived with the intention of staying for a month and a month only. Wilson and Byrne obviously seduced them to stay :)

I am finding it difficult to come to terms with the new Swindon Town, they appear to know exactly what they are doing.  This must be a parallel universe, I need to get back to reality.
