I think now may be the time Wilson realises a change of plan may be required because the other one hasn't paid off. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson targets permanent deal for Trundle Post by: alanmayes on Monday, August 10, 2009, 11:48:21 We've been down this road twice before; in 80's with Peach/Rollings and then with Thorpe/Cureton,
it ended with the manager's on both occasions losing their jobs. They need to think this through very carefully. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson targets permanent deal for Trundle Post by: Arriba on Monday, August 10, 2009, 11:52:19 i think a loan is deffo worth getting him in.
a permanant deal is a totally different thing mind.he will be on a big wage, and is no spring chicken. aint gonna have sell on value either Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson targets permanent deal for Trundle Post by: Foggy on Monday, August 10, 2009, 11:58:41 Fucking hell chaps, give the bloke a chance. Lets face it, there arent exactly hundreds of top class strikers banging on Dws door to sign for us are there? This is where a decent manager earns his corn though, by sniffing out a replacement in good time for a departing player....Wilson has had long enough to replace Cox with someone, and seemingly failed. On AM's point about Thorpe/Cureton...King although a poor coach could spot a player, Cureton didn't work out, but the following season he was leading scorer in the CCC with ColU, which suggests it wasn't a completely hopeless move. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson targets permanent deal for Trundle Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, August 10, 2009, 12:24:48 So who is this "Someone" then Reg? Wilson gets a bit longer...he earned that by doing the job required last season, and he merits a few more games this, to see whether his summer strategy has been a success. If it isn't then we're back to firefighting and weeks of speculation about the usual suspects. I've no idea, it's not my job. I had no idea who Cox was when he turned up, but someone in Sturrock's staff noticed him. The fact we haven't signed anyone doesn't mean there's no players out there. |
