Title: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: STFC_Gazza on Monday, July 27, 2009, 20:31:52 Its my duty as forum grim reaper (not THE GRIM REAPER) to announce that Livingston in the SFL Divison 1 are near death
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/livingston/8170558.stm The Scottish Football League is already preparing for life without them... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/livingston/8171390.stm On another note wonder if we can buy one of the stands at their ground if they do go under. Nice new Town End or even Stratton Bank? Minus the seats ofcourse.. http://www.scottishgrounds.co.uk/living10.jpg Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, July 27, 2009, 20:39:17 Been to Livvy before. Its a soulless new club that have gone the same way as Gretna. Saw some success after only forming 14 years ago. Climbed up the leagues, won the league cup, got into Europe (I went to a match against Sturn Graz, finished 3-5 I think) and have gone downhill ever since. Friendly club but a shit place to watch football if you want an atmosphere.
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: Barry Scott on Monday, July 27, 2009, 20:58:29 Have they got any decent strikers?
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, July 27, 2009, 21:04:05 Have they got any decent strikers? In a word, no. Unless you want Armand One? Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: Barry Scott on Monday, July 27, 2009, 21:06:56 He's got a fucking ace name, he weighs 18.5st and is 6'7". I can't see any reason why someone wouldn't want him.
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Monday, July 27, 2009, 22:12:49 Good. The MK Dons of the SFL!
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: tans on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 08:14:07 I preferred it when they were Meadowbank Thistle. What a name!
Anyhow it seems the chairman is the italian equivalent of old greek one. He seems a bit of a cunt. Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: STFC_Gazza on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 16:29:55 The staff and players have all been made redundant. The SFA is ready to officially kick them out of the league after they go into receivership.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/livingston/8174920.stm This could have been us and Diamandis, who seemed determined the club would die..... Angelo Massone the owner of Livingston refused to give up his 25K shareholding in the club and allowed it to go bust. If he gave up the shareholding. Livi would still be here. http://scotzine.com/2009/07/29/livingston-fc-go-into-liquidation-after-massones-incompetence-shines-through-once-again/ Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 17:03:12 Massone is a complete muppet. But it couldnt happen to a nicer team. Bring back the Bankies!
Also, another plus, is it will allow another team to step up. Either Spartans or Cove Rangers IMO. Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Surly be Spartans who lost out when Gretna collapsed? Also, another plus, is it will allow another team to step up. Either Spartans or Cove Rangers IMO. Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: Spencer_White on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 19:14:37 Another example that this can and will happen if chairman ignore the realities of the outside world.
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: STFC_Gazza on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 20:08:46 Chairman sounds like a cock

Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: pauld on Thursday, July 30, 2009, 08:21:43 This could have been us and Diamandis, who seemed determined the club would die..... Angelo Massone the owner of Livingston refused to give up his 25K shareholding in the club and allowed it to go bust. If he gave up the shareholding. Livi would still be here. It's not a £25k shareholding, it's a £0 shareholding. It's worthless but the administrators have offered him £25k to give it up and sod off, but he's holding out for more because "I have invested millions of my own money into keeping this club going". In the meantime, there are apparently investors willing to come in and save the club, but none of them are prepared to get involved while Massone is around and he won't quit unless he gets a payoff he deems worthy of his alleged investment. Sound familiar?Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: tans on Saturday, August 8, 2009, 14:07:51 Refused to play today apparently.
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: Chubbs on Saturday, August 8, 2009, 14:25:21 Didn't realise they have been relegated to the 3rd Div, ouch
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: jonny72 on Saturday, August 8, 2009, 14:32:33 Refused to play today apparently. The Scottish League have made themselves look complete morons over this. They decide with less than a week before of the start of the season to relegate Livingston to the 3rd division. Livingston appeal it, as they can't do the appeal before the start of the season they say the matches will go ahead with Livingston in the 3rd. Then if their appeal is successful, the affected matches will be ruled null and void and played again with the Livingston in the 1st. Livingston then refuse to play the 3rd division game. How could they fuck it up so badly? Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: tans on Saturday, August 8, 2009, 15:16:07 Well they are Scottish ;)
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, August 9, 2009, 10:59:22 They shouldnt have allowed them an appeal, just like the FL doesnt.
Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: JTomlinson on Sunday, August 9, 2009, 18:10:49 What a shambles - now the other games have been played surely they can't reverse the decision?
Maybe Livi' can take the double relegation as a fresh start (AFC Wimbledon), get winning and the crowds back? Title: Re: Livingston On The Brink.... Post by: jonny72 on Sunday, August 9, 2009, 20:35:04 They shouldnt have allowed them an appeal, just like the FL doesnt. I agree. But the SFL shouldn't have made the decision so close to the start of the season, shouldn't have come up with the punishment without warning and should have a reasonable and fixed penalty system for rule breaches. Its not the punishment that's the problem, just the incompetent manner in which the SFL have handled it. |
