Title: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: michael on Sunday, July 19, 2009, 18:23:29 1945 kick off tomorrow night.
Wonder what sort of side DW will put out for this local derby. Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Sunday, July 19, 2009, 18:28:34 I may pop out to this
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Bob's Orange on Sunday, July 19, 2009, 18:41:00 He'll have to give Samba 90 minutes I would have thought. Unless there are more triallist strikers lined up.
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Luci on Sunday, July 19, 2009, 18:51:39 WBA will be my first and last game this preseason :( if the tix had been a fiver I may have done more
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Kinky Tom on Sunday, July 19, 2009, 20:12:10 I'll be off to Luton, really looking forward to it!
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Weasel on Monday, July 20, 2009, 08:10:49 A mixture of youth and fringe players apparently. Imagine the first team will play at Luton tomorrow night and then reserves at 'Nam then... Shame.
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Peter Venkman on Monday, July 20, 2009, 12:59:28 Squad for tonights game announced.....
Mark Scott, Nathan Thompson, Jerel Ifil, Sean Morrison, Mark Marshall, Stephen Morrison, Anton Ademol, Billy Bodin, Jordan Record, Scott Spencer, Elliott Knight, Callum Antell, Mark Hartmann, Seb Bloomfield, Will Evans, Mark Clark, Cherno Samba The only names I haven't heard of yet are Mark Clark and Anton Ademol.....are they 1st year apprentices or trialists? Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Monday, July 20, 2009, 13:02:35 That Anton one is a trialist
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: juddie on Monday, July 20, 2009, 13:03:09 looking forward to hearing if this Seb Bloomfield is any good. I wonder why Jerel's going with this team?
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Monday, July 20, 2009, 13:07:56 I wonder
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: DV on Monday, July 20, 2009, 13:14:26 stephen morrison???
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: lambourn red on Monday, July 20, 2009, 13:17:18 Morrison and Ifil in tonight I would have thought at least 1 of those 2 will start against Luton unless DW is going with Lesciel with Greer.
I got told this morning it is £8(i dont know how true that is) to get in tonight seems a bit steep for a youth team versus an Hellenic League team Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Peter Venkman on Monday, July 20, 2009, 13:22:07 stephen morrison??? Oh I missed him! I know of a youngster that was at Everton a midfielder a few years ago called Stephen Morrison, would be about 19 or 20 now, might be him maybe. Bit of info. Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, July 20, 2009, 18:57:53 Mark Clark wasn't in that list of 1st years published on the OS a few weeks back, so could be a trialist I guess.
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Luci on Monday, July 20, 2009, 20:04:22 Any score?
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Peter Venkman on Monday, July 20, 2009, 20:07:36 Last I heard it was 0-0 but that was just before kick off! :D
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, July 20, 2009, 20:08:31 There is a goal at each end.
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: STFC_Gazza on Monday, July 20, 2009, 20:55:09 did we win? Did Chumba Wumba score?

Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Doore on Monday, July 20, 2009, 20:58:07 No..he got knocked down..and didnt get up again. They lied to us through song. Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, July 20, 2009, 20:58:50 They lied to us through song. I hate it when people do that. Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: STFC_Gazza on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:00:57 No..he got knocked down..and didnt get up again. Never gonna keep him down though are we? The two former Evertonians scored. Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:08:59 Quote The final goal of the night saw Scott Spencer, released by Everton in the summer, head home following a deep cross to round off the scoring and a comfortable victory. He scores headers from crosses?! Sign him up! Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Nemo on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:11:07 Billy Bodin won the ball from a cross for the second goal? Now that must have been poor work from the Hungerford defenders, he's bloomin' tiny.
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: leefer on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:13:05 Yes...but he scored 2 in 3 for Wales U17 recently.
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: chrisser on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:14:44 Team: Scott - Thompson (Clark), Ifil (W Evans), Sean Morrison, Knight - Marshall, Andemol, Stephen Morrison (Hartmann), Bodin - Spencer, Samba (Record)
Marshall got 3 assists. First was a short corner between Marshall and Bodin which was crossed to Morrison on the edge of the area to shoot low. Second was a run down the left for Marshall who crossed to the far post for Bodin to head home. Third was another cross from the left with Spencer getting a decent header. Thought Scott did well in goal. Andemol and Stephen Morrison did enough to get another game at Chippenham on Wednesday. Spencer had a few nice touches but was probably lacking match sharpness. Not over impressed with Samba to be honest. Didn't really contribute much. Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: STFC_Gazza on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:19:48 my mate said Cherno Samba was absolute shite. And jumped and completely missed the ball several times, 2 year contract now then? oh wait MM is gone...
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: chrisser on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:27:40 That would be another way of putting it Gaz. I was trying to be polite.
If Hungerford were going to score it would have been through our own mistakes. Scott was quick of his line to close down attackers and make clearances. Took what crosses came in with confidence. The Town bench were encouraging him to talk to his defenders more but that's about it as far as criticism goes Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Doore on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:30:40 Thanks chrisser. Sounds like Samba is a no-go.
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: michael on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:36:24 Stephen Morrison looked a tidy footballer in midfield. Worth another look I would think.
Samba didn't have a good game at all. Unsure about Scott Spencer. Scored a goal but not much else came off for him. Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: Luci on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:47:33 IMO Wilson has seen Samba a couple of times and as he hasn't made a decision yet, I'd guess he's not sure which probably means he won't be getting a deal. With not much success to report on previously, he'd have to do pretty damn well to get a contract offer
Title: Re: Hungerford v Swindon Post by: flammableBen on Monday, July 20, 2009, 21:50:30 I need a new jumper. Anybody driving to a close friendly?
