Just seen on another site that it's Billy P's birthday today; many happy returns.

Happy birthday Billy. As a member of the Billy Paynter fan club I've popped a party popper for each of your Swindon Town goals. My living room floor is now covered in streamers.

I can't believe how young he is. One of those players who seems to have been around forever. On a sidenote he and Amankwah were are most improved players last year imo

Everyone in the world has a birthday.  Would it not be an idea for us all to have the same "official" birthday instead and just have a massive party, perhaps in the middle of November?  All present money could be spent on booze instead.  Make the day after a national holiday (birthday hangover day).

Benefits: Everyone, including the friendless, gets a birthday party; You don't have to worry about whether you can make it or not; Your missus doesn't make you buy a present for your mate (I'll buy him a pint!);  No "I've got to work tomorrow" excuses from rubbish mates;  Shy people don't have to be the centre of attention.

Drawbacks: none whatsover.

I surprise myself sometimes.  This will change the world.

Pubs would be too busy and the New Year's effect would mean it would cost a small fortune.

Rubbish idea.

I was thinking more along the lines of street parties.  Booze could be bought in advance, food cooked up at home and brought in to the street.  A bit like in Neighbours, but not Australian, and real.

You'd want it in June/July then, not in November when it would be cold and wet!
