Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, July 13, 2009, 09:08:14 I saw him at Gatwick Airport and he was always a big guy but he had put on a lot if weight since stopping playing football.
He was doing analysis on some of the Old Firm games on Setanta and he always came across well I thought. He was a strong player on the pitch, hopefully he can fight this, good luck to him. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: strooood on Monday, July 13, 2009, 09:37:45 Always loved Hartson. One of those fat strikers who completely didn't adhere to the footballing stereotypes but was quality at his job.
All the best, hope he recovers fully. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Arriba on Monday, July 13, 2009, 09:50:40 terrible illness.took my grandad and my aunts lives.

Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: walrus on Monday, July 13, 2009, 17:48:17 Brain Cancer sounds terrible - poor guy Yeh it's a pretty awful disease...!Get well Sir John, legendary striker, most notable for wearing number 5 despite playing as a striker for Coventry. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: leefer on Monday, July 13, 2009, 17:50:45 And for trying his new boots out on a team mate at West Ham!!!!!!!!!...good luck to him, hope they caught it early enough.
Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Bennett on Monday, July 13, 2009, 17:51:42 i always liked hartson too, it's a shame.
he's ginger, welsh and now this :( Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, July 13, 2009, 17:54:00 There's got to be something more significant about John Hartson's career than wearing a number 5 shirt during a short spell with Coventry?
I remember he made his first major impact during a cup run with Luton (the season they used squad numbers) - Plus the prolific seasons in Scotland. Good luck to the guy. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Nomoreheroes on Monday, July 13, 2009, 18:43:35 Terrible illness. Took a very good friend of mine recently - His name was John too. :(

He is regarded very highly up at Celtic. Always gave 100%. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: michael on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 18:19:53 Livestrong John.
We are all behind you big man. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Ralphy on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 19:08:11 Just looked on wikipedia and see he is only 34.
This really is tragic. He was an old fashioned striker who liked a pint! I hope he pulls through this. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Summerof69 on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 10:45:57 There is speculation in the press that the doctors haven't given him much chance, and if he lasts more than 72 hours it'll be a surprise.
Best of luck Big John. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Power to people on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 14:45:56 Blimey, it's not good though is it, Tumours, bollock cancer and lung cancer I suppose you have to rely on the body wanting to be up for the fight and how aggressive it is.
Let hope he can come through this though, always a good player and 34 is no age Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 16:11:11 Particularly with 3 kids as well. It's a horrible situation - I never had much of an opinion on John Hartson, and I don't usually go in for the sentimental stuff for 'celebrities' and whatnot, but I really feel for him and his family.
Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: chalkies_shorts on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 22:57:28 I always liked the guy. Its like someone from the terrace came good. Never a classic footballer but someone the fans can rally around.
34 is a very young age. Best wishes boyyo. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Spencer_White on Friday, July 17, 2009, 13:21:20 Lance Armstrong sent him a goodwill message. Amazing to think he went through the same thing, Testicular, lungs and brain.
Must be terrible for his fammily at the moment. Very bad news indeed. Title: Re: John Hartson Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Friday, July 17, 2009, 16:25:16 good luck john.
