I saw him at Gatwick Airport and he was always a big guy but he had put on a lot if weight since stopping playing football.

He was doing analysis on some of the Old Firm games on Setanta and he always came across well I thought.

He was a strong player on the pitch, hopefully he can fight this, good luck to him.

Always loved Hartson. One of those fat strikers who completely didn't adhere to the footballing stereotypes but was quality at his job.

All the best, hope he recovers fully.

Brain Cancer sounds terrible - poor guy
Yeh it's a pretty awful disease...!

Get well Sir John, legendary striker, most notable for wearing number 5 despite playing as a striker for Coventry.

There's got to be something more significant about John Hartson's career than wearing a number 5 shirt during a short spell with Coventry?

I remember he made his first major impact during a cup run with Luton (the season they used squad numbers) - Plus the prolific seasons in Scotland.

Good luck to the guy.

He is regarded very highly up at Celtic. Always gave 100%.

Just looked on wikipedia and see he is only 34.

This really is tragic. He was an old fashioned striker who liked a pint!

I hope he pulls through this.

There is speculation in the press that the doctors haven't given him much chance, and if he lasts more than 72 hours it'll be a surprise.

Best of luck Big John.

Blimey, it's not good though is it, Tumours, bollock cancer and lung cancer I suppose you have to rely on the body wanting to be up for the fight and how aggressive it is.

Let hope he can come through this though, always a good player and 34 is no age

Particularly with 3 kids as well. It's a horrible situation - I never had much of an opinion on John Hartson, and I don't usually go in for the sentimental stuff for 'celebrities' and whatnot, but I really feel for him and his family.

I always liked the guy. Its like someone from the terrace came good. Never a classic footballer but someone the fans can rally around.
34 is a very young age. Best wishes boyyo.

Lance Armstrong sent him a goodwill message. Amazing to think he went through the same thing, Testicular, lungs and brain.

Must be terrible for his fammily at the moment. Very bad news indeed.

An amazing recovery. I thought he was a dead man walking. Fair play to him (and the doctors of course)
