Title: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Doore on Monday, July 6, 2009, 20:30:04 Probably been done already but just watching repeats on BBC3 - one of the best comedies made in the last 10/15 years.
I used to work in Barry as well - those characters exist everywhere down there. That is all. Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, July 6, 2009, 20:31:59 I liked Series 1 - Hated Series 2. Rob Brydon is the bomb.

Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 6, 2009, 20:34:02 10-4 Robert Mugabe.

My heart goes out to you in this time of great distress.
As for Gavin and Stacey, I think it's great. It took me a few episodes to get into it but once you understand the characters it's brilliant. Rob Brydon is awesome Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: JPC82 on Monday, July 6, 2009, 20:50:59 Ive never watched it but my dad LOVES it which makes me think I would too I just need to have a little rant Boyfriends out so sat down for my "The Hills" fest - series Finale - skyplused it Sunday night - Bloody sky didnt tape the whole programme it cut off halfway through - Im DEEPLY unhappy right now Come round mate :) i got the last 2 to watch still Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, July 6, 2009, 20:51:48 Thanks r4e Im deeply distrubed - I WANTED TO WATCH SPENCER AND HEIDIS WEDDING!!!!!
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: jonny72 on Monday, July 6, 2009, 21:12:36 Whilst I like it, I reckon G&S is nowhere near as good as the hype would have you believe. Far better and more original comedy series on BBC, The Mighty Boosh for example is a million times better.
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: axs on Monday, July 6, 2009, 21:13:22 I like it, have a feeling a third series may be a step too far though.
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Doore on Monday, July 6, 2009, 21:14:18 Whilst I like it, I reckon G&S is nowhere near as good as the hype would have you believe. Far better and more original comedy series on BBC, The Mighty Boosh for example is a million times better. I suppose its a very subjective subject. I still back G&S as the best of the last few years - the only thing that runs it close is Peep Show. Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Doore on Monday, July 6, 2009, 21:14:42 Subjective subject? English teacher: "must do better".
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Ginginho on Monday, July 6, 2009, 21:16:29 I thought series 1 was good, series 2 a bit shit, and since "Horne And Corden" I find them annoying as fuck, like the two twats from Little Britain.
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: jonny72 on Monday, July 6, 2009, 21:40:20 Talking of the annoying twats from Little Britain, I quite liked Krod Mandoon. Whilst it didn't quite work, it was close to being brilliant and there were some really funny bits. Hopefully they'll give it a 2nd season and make a few changes to improve it.
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 18:31:03 *bump* got the box set of all the series and Xma specials for Christmas - just finished series 3 and I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE it!!!
Nessa is the funniest thing ever! Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: adje on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 19:09:59 I normally like it but thought the Christmas Day episode a bit weak
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Luci on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 19:11:04 The Inbetweeners >>>>>>>> Gavin and Stacey :D
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: adje on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 19:22:07 In betweeners is just plain coarse-I love it!
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 19:25:16 I've never really watched it.

Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: THE FLASH on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 02:44:56 Inbetweeners series 1 and 2 for xmas.....happy as Larry..
Sad thing is, it takes me back.. I was the lad with the shit car.... Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 10:55:20 Gavin & Stacey would be good if Gavin & Stacey weren't in it.
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 11:05:34 I find it watchable but very bland.
The Shouty porker, James Corden and the glum porker, the fat bird, if you pardon the pun are both wearing extremely thin and I have more personality in my testicles than Gavin and Stacey (although she would get it). Best thing in it is Rob Brydon who always manages the odd cracker of a line. Not a patch on the Royal Family. Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 11:37:15 Royle Family, shirley?
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 11:56:24 To be fair, I think the Royal and Royle families are both more interesting.
James Corden has written some cracking stuff, but he's also written some dross. I think he began to believe in his own hype rather too much, and is now realising he'll need to maintain his standards if he's going to stay up there. Thought his sketch with the England team for Comic Relief was superb...but the least said about 'Horne & Corden' the better. Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 12:50:45 They're Royal in my book Barbera..
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: JOHNNY REEVES on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 13:56:04 apart from the england red nose day send up corden aint that funny to me.
Title: Re: Gavin and Stacey Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 14:23:12 He's the scotch egg of shouty comedy. Anyone remember him as the "fat one that writes the songs" aka Garry Barlow in the piss take comedy about Boy Bands a few years ago?
He was shit in that as well. |
