Title: Phil Smith in Number 1 Shirt
Post by: Ron Burgundy on Monday, July 6, 2009, 13:35:06
I have noticed that Phil Smith is wearing the Number 1 shirt in training from the "Gallery" on the OS today. David Lucas is wearing number 12.

Are these the numbers for next season? Or do that get switched about later after pre-season?

I would have thought that Lucas would be our number 1 this season

its all last seasons training kit...

....but Smith had the number 1 shirt last season so he'll probably have it again this season

a) the number 1 shirt will fit him from last season b) Simon Cox wore 17 in training last year... although if I re-call he changed his number back to 31? Wouldnt take much notice what shirts the players are wearing now.

They don't normally bother changing numbers do they? Its not like the old days before squad numbers.

I'd imagine Smith will keep the #1 number but it will have nothing to do with him being first choice (or not).

please note all training numbers are provisional and do not represent squad numbers for 2009/10

So that's two of us that can read.

Admittedly you need the help of a rather large pair of Deidre Barlow-esque spectacles, circa 1984....
