I got so fed up with Riddel and Pets asking for widespread bans i did...everyone!  Not sure guessing their server is down, i didn't get any notification of it.

Sutton, could you use the powers bestowed upon you to unban me from the Franchise Rivals board?  It's been weeks since I've been able to remind them that they're all freaks/deviants with no history and no reason whatever to call themselves 'the Dons'.  I miss them terribly and I'm sure they miss me too.

It's a fair point actually - Sky have had control for a year or so and apart from completely wrecking the format, all was well, but as you say sutton comes along and the whole thing's down the tubes within weeks. Clearly sutton is the insider behind a sinister plot to bring down MoS.

In my defence, my attention was distracted by being distraught at the thought of having to face the season without KR's incisive postmatch analysis of the game - how will I know what I've watched (and he's usually not) now? At the very least, sutton should set up mythoughtsontodaysgame.com

Oh and I've got most of the posters (including Riddle and 'Kingston Robin', as if he exists) e mail address's, so advertising the switch should be straight forward..

I don't think sutton bows to public pressure - I'm starting to picture him as a kind of Kim Yong Il figure, including the tiny tailor-made suits. He's not going to listen, he's more likely to order in the Rivals Republican Guard

Used to go on Rivals all the time. Loved the banter with Riddel and Leroy and Sleepingminnow's anorak like qualities. There was a guy called Townfish as well who used to be a bit of a windup merchant if memory recalls correctly.

myonlyswindon.com was one of the first Swindon internet boards going.

Leroy's comebacks was witty along with a few others,Im going to miss that board,especially reading our lot's wind up tactics on the yellows online board.In a funny kind of way im even going to miss those poolies who had such a fixation with us.

Yeah it does. Essentially Sutton invented KR as a comment on internet football nerds. It was a clever device. Sadly he went a bit method, the posts got more and more ludicrous, and Sutton started to actually think his creation had a life of its own. They made him an admin on Rivals to try and distract him from this mulitple personality syndrome.

Rivals was never quite the same since it was re formatted, plus it lost about half of its regular posters at that time...however, it will be missed - the level of humour and abuse / puts downs was top notch IMHO.

The last ten years of posting on MOS have taught me numerous transferrable skills which I feel would be beneficial to other forums: casual racism, debating the relative merits of Subway and firesticks, fabricating elaborate South-West-London-based masquerades in an attempt to establish one's hegemony over the entire internet... the list goes on and on.

Add into the mix tarmaccing drives and selling heather, picked up from the regular Gills visitors, and you have the complete package.

Shame to lose it.Was full of filth and had to be read behind closed hands at times but was hugely amusing.

We've got a couple of irons in the fire, hopefully wont be too long before you are back behind those hands reading about  riddel the lothario, and leroy the err..

Without Rivals, we may never see the word fanny on screen ever again.

Going back about 10 years there was a club called The Roadhouse in front of the church on Pennings Road. It was a licence to print money and the local freemason police sargeant hated it.

If they had stuck at topless rollerskating barmaids they would have probably got away with it.

It was a dump, but good fun - a club with a kebab shop and a taxi office next door.

Sorry - I didn't explain very well - the Ram is still there as the only pub for the whole town. The Roadhouse was just up the road on the other side.

When I was there the Ram was pretty much off limits to squaddies, as the local population used it. We drank in the Drummer, or went into Andover (Especially on the nights The Country Bumpkin was open!)

As long as I've known it...as a kid so we're talking a long time ago, the family used to go down to the South Coast for a day out, and always stopped off at The Ram on the way home.  Back then the drink drive limit was about 6 pints.
