So who exactly are Calliste, Collett, Poole, Tierney, Lawrence and Hogg?

Of this lot, the only player to have featured in a first team game is 23 year old midfielder Paul Tierney from Salford. The former U21 Republic of Ireland player has been on loan with Bradford City this season, after being on loan with Colchester United and Crewe Alexandra in previous seasons. Bradford City manager Colin Todd has revealed that he wants to see more of Paul Tierney, who has recently suffered an injury setback, before he can make a decision on him for next season.
 
Ben Collett is a 20 year old left-sided midfielder from Bury who won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year in 2003, and he was a part of the Youth Cup winning side. Unfortunately, a broken leg meant that he was out of action for nine months, and that has undoubtedly hampered his development at United.

20 year old David Poole is a Manchester-born forward who has featured regularly for the reserves. Despite chipping in with some crucial goals, Poole will not be offered a renewal of his contract and will need to find a new club to be his stepping stone to first team football. There were rumours early last month that Sunderland were interested in Poole, and he could join them on a free transfer, following the footsteps of former United player Mark Lynch.

Lee Lawrence hails from Boston, and the 20 year old leftback was a part of the Youth Cup winning side in 2003. He joined Shrewsbury Town in March last year to get a taste of first team football, but unfortunately he has been unable to make his debut for the United first team. Lee Lawrence has featured for England youth teams in the past.

Steven Hogg is a 19 year old defender from Bury, who was in his third year with the Academy. He has regularly featured in reserves games this season, but unfortunately he hasn't made the grade in Fergie's books.

The biggest surprise of this list is perhaps Ramon Calliste. The 19 year is also in his third year with the Academy, and plays as a striker. Calliste is part of the Welsh under-21 side, and is quite highly rated. However, with the likes of Rossi, Ebanks-Blake and Fraizer Campbell in the squad, Calliste's chances of eventually making it into the United first team were slim.

Paul McShane, who was outstanding all evening in the heart of United's defence, began the move. He poked a ball forward to Ramon Calliste - United's exciting young striker produced a wonderful flick to find Kieran Richardson on the left side of the centre circle. Richardson then found Jones, who laid the ball on to Chris Eagles on the right wing.

Ramon Calliste darted across the edge of the box, top-toeing his way past the Owls defence, who tentatively awaited the forward's next move. Calliste then slipped a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Kieran Richardson, who sent his rocket of a winner past Poulter to put an end to the tie and secure his side's place in the last sixteen.

we wont be able to sign any of them. the relaity is that igoe and co are taking too long to decide on their contract offers that we cant make offers to other players until they decide. therefore these players will be snapped up by those that can make offers  :(

why would any of these players want to come to swindon anyway? all of our players whose contracts ran out at the end of the season want out, there were several occasions last year when they were paid late and its known that the club have huge debts. if you are a young budding talented footballer who has spent the last few years of your life playing for man utd, are you really likely to want to come and join a club like swindon? :(
