Title: Sweden v England Post by: nochee on Friday, June 26, 2009, 09:58:36 Are playing in the Semi-finals of the U21 Euro championship tonight.
Win this and we are in the final against either Germany or Italy. Psycho is doing a great job with the young lads, i wish them good luck. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Arriba on Friday, June 26, 2009, 16:02:28 1-0 up in under a minute

Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Scot Munroe on Friday, June 26, 2009, 16:42:59 Agbonlahor out of the final as he will be suspended after picking up another booking
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: DV on Friday, June 26, 2009, 17:31:38 3-2 now last 15....
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 17:32:12 Good ol' England, makes you kind of proud how at most levels we do it the hard way :)
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 17:37:21 3-3!
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: DV on Friday, June 26, 2009, 17:37:51 just like watching Swindon
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:04:22 This Marcus Berg chap has good stats at domestic level - I imagine his employers Groningen will struggle to keep him long-term.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:07:41 Frazier Campbell sent off.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:31:54 Oh dear Milner - haha.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Nemo on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:32:35 Joe Hart is the man.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: timmyg on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:34:54 That was cheeky as fuck from Hart.
Milner really went to town with the turf kick, didn't he! That'll make it a bit looser for everyone else now too... Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:36:15 Joe Hart misses the Final if they go through!
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Nemo on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:36:26 Joe Hart out of the final as well as Campbell and Agbonlahor. We aint even going to manage to get a team on the pitch even if we get through.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:37:33 This ain't gonna end well for England is it?
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Nemo on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:37:55 One has to eventually surely?
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:38:20 Yipee!!!!
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: timmyg on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:38:38 What was it that Hart was booked for? Saying something he shouldn't I'd guess as the Swedish keeper is doing all the actions and jumping!
Missed! England go through! Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:38:44 I hope they do a conga around that ground.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Nemo on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:38:46 Ingvar Kamprad, your boys took one HELL OF A BEATING
:D Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: timmyg on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:40:55 No strikers in the final? Walcott on his own up front really didn't work so I hope that they figure something out.
Thought Gibbs had another good game, and Rodwell seems very mature for such a young lad. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:42:26 Shit me. England won on penaltys!
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:43:05 ... James Milners was glorious though :)
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: DV on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:43:13 as soon as berg stepped up to take the first one I said to me dad
'he's scored all their goals, been the best player - he'll miss' dv knows best! Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Lash_sumthin on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:45:33 it was a 50/50 chance of getting it right ;)
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 26, 2009, 18:47:51 My missus always does the penalty shoot-out guessing game - always pointing out the ones she gets right and never mentioning the vast amount of predictions she gets wrong :)
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: singingiiiffy on Friday, June 26, 2009, 20:24:21 i even bet on england boys to win on pens! had to win them sometime. hope the 1st team can watch and learn
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 09:26:37 I would think england will be beat us in the final - the fact that Manuel Neuer has been our best player tells the full story.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 17:36:28 I would think england will be beat us in the final - the fact that Manuel Neuer has been our best player tells the full story. England suffer from the same disease as the senior team, namely an inability to keep the ball....which inevitably means at some point we come under a lot of pressure, when playing technically decent sides. Against the Swedes, we got away with it just, because of their more or less total inability to deal with corners. I guess we'll go with Walcott up front and Milner and Johnson wide. Hart will be a miss though, because he's a bit of a character...gives off a lot of positives to the rest. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: DV on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 17:44:54 I would also like to know why Simon Cox is not playing in this.
Simon Cox > Frazier Campbell Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 17:50:54 I would also like to know why Simon Cox is not playing in this. Simon Cox is 22.Simon Cox > Frazier Campbell Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 17:57:26 Simon Cox is 22. He would have qualified for this comp though, you needed to be <21 when it began about 2 years ago. More or less you have to be playing in the Prem. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 18:25:09 Reggie S is correct - James Milner is 23 years old.
Andrew Driver's inclusion was suprising - an attempt to sway him to remain "English"? Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 18:54:07 He would have qualified for this comp though, you needed to be <21 when it began about 2 years ago. Fair enough!More or less you have to be playing in the Prem. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: DV on Saturday, June 27, 2009, 19:49:26 Simon Cox is 22. as if DV would make a glaringly obvious football stat related incorrect comment like that hang your head in shame. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, June 28, 2009, 01:03:47 flammableBen is 25
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:30:54 Thoroughly tonked: 4-0 down to the Germans.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Kinky Tom on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:37:45 no presence up top tonight, once we went 1-0 down there was really only one winner.
wonder how many of them will go on to play for the first squad? Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:42:17 It was a sad way for Milner to end his somewhat overlong U-21 career. I imagine he might get capped in the next year.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Kinky Tom on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:44:01 yep, he will - have to say i don't really think he's lived up to the potential he seemed to have when he was here, probably down to the fact he was at the toon for too long.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:45:29 no presence up top tonight, once we went 1-0 down there was really only one winner. wonder how many of them will go on to play for the first squad? I'd have thought a fair few...Richards, Walcott, Agbonlahor already have played for the full side. Milner has been in the squad. Gibbs and Rodwell certainly will. Muamba has been impressive. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Kinky Tom on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:49:03 I'll give you them, but for instance I don't really see the captain Noble making the grade, Muamba just strikes me as one of those players that will unexplainibly be overlooked by England managers. Hopefully Hart will have a good season at Brum.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Bogus Dave on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:50:25 I reckon mark noble will play for the seniors. Very tidy midfielder
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: LucienSanchez on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:51:33 Walcott was good again... parp
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:54:03 I reckon mark noble will play for the seniors. Very tidy midfielder He might get 4 or 5 caps if he's lucky. Most of them would be already capped if Sven was still in charge. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Arriba on Monday, June 29, 2009, 20:54:44 milner will step up.walcott is a pain in the arse.sometimes unplayable, other times utter shite.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Doore on Monday, June 29, 2009, 21:02:29 walcott is a pain in the arse.sometimes unplayable, other times utter shite. Much like Lennon and Wright-Phillips. Its a conundrum. Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Arriba on Monday, June 29, 2009, 21:06:19 i'd take walcott over both of those doore.more direct.did well as an impact sub, but i dont think he is anywhere near where he should be.
Title: Re: Sweden v England Post by: Doore on Monday, June 29, 2009, 21:08:38 I think W-P has had his chances with England. I think Lennon could be at a similar level to Walcott, if only one of them could get some consistency in to their play.
