Bavaria is bloody lovely.

Drank a lot of that whilst in Rotterdam last year.

Where did you pick that tidy lot up from arriba?

I spent the day with my lady recovering from far too much rum last night - much fun and festivities were had.  Made a seafood lasagne - I impress myself sometimes.  Now watching James May in space and having a lovely few cans of Old Speckled Hen.  I fully intend to ignore the fact that I will be going to work in the morning for as long as possible.

Im trying to keep the spirit of a fun weekend alive with a bottle of local Italian Chianti. I have just flew back from a weekend in Sweden with the GF and her mad family. We were celebrating Midsummer and the 24 hour sun. After many many beers i thought it absolutely nescessary to run naked into the lake at midnight. Maybe not the best idea iv ever had on reflection but they laughed.

Filling out more job applications and listening to The Jesus and Mary Chain, for the first time ever. No alcohol to comment on I'm afraid.

Ah, the Jesus and Mary Chain. Brings back happy memories.

If you like them, try the Raveonettes, who also do a good line in feedback.

No booze here, either.

My goldfish called Wanda (I like to think I'm funny.  I am reliably assured by mates that I am not.)

Anyway, she did the longest poo I've ever seen today - it was approx three times the length of her body.  I was a bit concerned but she looked very proud of herself.

I wish I wasnt me alot of the time.

I have one, but its off season.

Either way I could have a million hobbies and I still cant switch my brain off when it comes to going to sleep. Thats the worst thing.

I used to do something a bit similar - I used to go out for a walk around midnight for half an hour to an hour.  Clears your head like nothing else.  Might be worth a go.

Alternatively, a nice single malt.

Post by: DV on Sunday, June 21, 2009, 22:52:23
I havent tried walking directly before bed but every now and again I do stick the ipod on and go for a good 4/5 mile walk.

Again though, with nothing to focus on whilst walking my mind drifts back to the very things I dont want in there to start with.

What are you worrying about DV?

I was meant to have a productive day clearing loads of junk out and preparing all my stuff to begin my hardcore revision week, but I didn't get very far as I was too tired to do much after doing some gardening stuff on Saturday. No alcohol all weekend, which is my typical weekend these days.

Urgh. Zando the Spriggan Stalker was going well before he just got killed by an old player ghost. Problem with playing Stalkers is that your ghosts end up being fucking deadly with their poison attacks if you run in them.

Samdy Gray (also a Spriggan Stalker) ended up being one of my shortest lived characters ever, succumbing to the first band of kobolds he bumped into at dungeon level 1.

Oh well. Come on Doore.

There's a new version of spelunky (http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=4017.0) out. Think I'll go back to that. I've sunk far too much time in it already though. 1740 games, 1735 deaths, 5 wins.

Games don't take long though.

Also it's fucking ace. Best game of the last 12 months.

I've invented a new drinking game.

Put on Daft Punk - Around the World. Drink every time the words "Around the World" happen in the song. See if you can last the full 7 mins or so.

Urgh my wine glass is empty.

I've drank nice red wines and nice white wines. Red wines are nicer, have more about them and are more enjoyable.

I've drank lots of cheap red wines and white whines. Cheap red wines are more reliably drinkable than cheap white.

White wine has it's place, it's a very different drink. But for evening chilling I can't see why you'd put it ahead of white.

It especially seems weird coming from you, I remember how snobby you used to get about lager at times.

my girlfriend still can't open a bank account, i've still got a chest/throat infection, my credit rating is fucked thanks to a bank deciding i'm the same person as my father, equifax refuse to accept i exist so i'm unable to get a new phone as the credit report won't even process, i still can't find a pair of boots i like in my size, still getting zero responses to job applications and i had a massive nosebleed in the centre of oxford today whilst walking around with a huge bruise on my arm where i had blood taken.

That's because lager is, in the main, piss water.  As are some white wines.  As are some red wines.  As you say, white wine and red wine are a very different drink - I often link them to food.  Tonight I cooked myself a Trout fillet with lemon and garlic - this was crying out for a white wine, and Pinot Grigio fitted the bill.  Tomorrow I'm making a lamb casserole - red wine will be the drink of choice.

There are good drinks of all kinds - I will even admit that there are nice lagers.  Variety is the spice of the drinking life.

If not ignore this, or you might want to anyway, up to you.

But when my GF moved to Swindon from Sweden she applied for a NI number and got that within 2/3 weeks and then with that opened up a Llloyds bank account with ease. I got the advice from a friend with a Dutch GF who had trouble opening up an account.

The info is yours to do with as you please
