Title: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: STFC_Gazza on Friday, June 19, 2009, 07:20:34 Appears our new goalkeeping coach is George Wood from Hartlepool

Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: Arch Stanton on Friday, June 19, 2009, 08:04:26 Totally agree....
Brez used to be king in the air, coming to claim crosses with confidence, Granville came in and it was suddenly all unconvincing punches and poor positional sense... Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: nevillew on Friday, June 19, 2009, 08:22:30 Not yet it's not.
Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: wokinghamred on Friday, June 19, 2009, 13:03:10 Not yet it's not. Hartlepool have announced that he's left to join us, so I guess its another Shirtliff situation. Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: DV on Friday, June 19, 2009, 13:18:15 Every day I look forward to the new season more and more.
We seem to be slowly building off the pitch, on the pitch and on the training field. Keep it up and I might just be a bit optimistic. Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: Power to people on Friday, June 19, 2009, 13:42:36 Adver suggests that this is only a part time position, surely a coaches job should be full time, isn't this the siuation we had with Dibgy a few years back he was a part tmie gk coach and the keepers at the time moaned they would prefer a full time gk coach to help them improve ?
Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: Batch on Friday, June 19, 2009, 14:05:43 We'd all be excited if we get wood, but it would be a bit of a flop if we didn't.
Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: nevillew on Friday, June 19, 2009, 14:13:29 Will the keepers be forming a splinter group, or a separate branch altogether ?
Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: Fred Elliot on Friday, June 19, 2009, 14:49:40 We'd all be excited if we get wood, but it would be a bit of a flop if we didn't. Good work Batch Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, June 19, 2009, 14:51:52 We'd all be excited if we get wood, but it would be a bit of a flop if we didn't. Worthy of Nev! Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: derbystfc on Friday, June 19, 2009, 15:07:25 Confirmed on OS!
Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: Nemo on Friday, June 19, 2009, 15:14:10 If tomorrows adver headline isn't "Danny gets Wood" I'll be dissapointed.

You'd think so. Can't think of many other professions where you would re-locate for a part time job. Unless he lives further south of course :) Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: Rich Pullen on Friday, June 19, 2009, 16:56:46 He has a house in South Wales according to the OS.
Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: chalkies_shorts on Friday, June 19, 2009, 18:17:23 When he turns up for training do they say "Morning Wood"?
Title: Re: New Goalkeeping Coach Post by: reeves4england on Friday, June 19, 2009, 18:50:05 I don't see why a goalkeeper coach being part-time is a problem... Surely they don't need to be around for all the fitness training, tactics etc? Just there some of the time to give advice etc which can obviously be worked on in their absence
