Title: Keegan to Southampton Post by: STFC4LIFE on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:17:49 On Sky Sports News, they reckon he's held talk with Le Tissier and will be appointed if his consortiums bid is successful.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Arriba on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:26:26 without money to invest i cannot see him doing much.with funding he can do a good job
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:30:45 Keegan only works with significant funding - he tends to walk otherwise.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:49:57 He would never be a choice of mine as management material, poor manager, needs high budget.....gets average at best results.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Arriba on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:53:03 a bit harsh jj.he's done well overall i'd say.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Batch on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:56:22 When the going get tough Keegan runs away. Can't hack the pressure.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Arriba on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 12:02:07 or he's honest ,and does he right thing. rather than stick around for a pay day?
i like him and for a club wth money he is a good manager Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 12:04:14 I am not so sure Arriba, I loved him as a player but his style is a bit too gung ho for my liking.
Might do well but I do think he gets cold feet a little quickly, I could be wrong tho. Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Batch on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 12:12:35 Nope, he is a bottler pure and simple.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: land_of_bo on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 12:14:31 He did well at Fulham, then had a decent 1st spell at Newcastle. It was all downhill after that. Hope he gets the job and takes them down.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Rich Pullen on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 12:21:08 He did well at Fulham, then had a decent 1st spell at Newcastle. It was all downhill after that. Hope he gets the job and takes them down. In those days, I could have guided Fulham to promotion. He did a great job at Newcastle helping them punch above their weight for seasons - which is what he was supposed to do. At this level, Kevin Keegan would do well I imagine. Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: pauld on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 13:00:48 This all stems from Radio Solent getting sent mobile phone pics of Keegan with Le Tissier and Leon Crouch (separately), so not quite as solid as SSN are making out. He may have been meeting them because they were trying to get him involved in the buy-out not as a manager?
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Power to people on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 13:01:30 It wil lbe tough for Southampton starting on -10 they will need the early wins, I'm not sure Keegan is one for pressure
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Mplanney on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 13:15:52 Don't worry Keegan will walk after we inflict their 3rd straight loss of the season
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 17:01:36 Ha ha Keegan? Ha ha ha.
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Anteater on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 17:29:58 Keegans a muppet (as a manager) and Southampton deserve him.
Never forgive him for his debacle as England manager in the last international at the old Wembley V Germany when he played Southgate in midfield ! Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: RobertT on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 18:52:25 didn't we nearly sign him as a player before he made it?
Title: Re: Keegan to Southampton Post by: Spencer_White on Thursday, June 18, 2009, 18:52:33 No one has mentioned he won the 1st division at a canter with Man City.
I think he will do well at our level. Still a legend, 3rd tier players will want to play for him. |
