Title: Some Wally
Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, 14:31:46
On The Adver site has said that Peter Shirtliff is our new Assistant Manager with Budgie moving down to a coaching capacity.

No idea how much salt needed for this rumour.

Well done Danny another good decision! Shirtliff was an excellent centre half at Sheff Weds
and Charlton. He also played for Danny at Barnsley. He was a real leader and great Captain.

Hope this has transferred itself to his coaching and assistant manager roles.I'm sure he'll
help organise and coach our defenders and the defensive side in general. He's what we've
needed since John Blackley.

The digital equivalent is available on all good digital boxes.

So is he coming or not? Are EA Sports (it's in the game) our new kit sponsors? And who is making the new kit.

All this and more coming up this month at STFC.

Think there's some kind of link up at least - my lad did the FITC half-term training course last week and on the Wed morning instead of doing football training EA came in with a load of consoles/games etc and they played them on mahooosive screens etc. He was dead chuffed.

I am. The needle keeps going on my sewing machine, that's why they're not on sale yet. Give me a chance, I'm new at this

As was reported Four Four Two would remain main home sponsor with EA sports on the back of the shirt, And vice-versa for the away shirt. Nothing official yet, but sounds likely given what Paul said.

442 is a 3 Year deal, and as above will be on the front of the home shirt, and the back of the away shirt, a cunning plan to get everyone to buy two. Which incidentally will work with me, even though red isn't my colour, bar matching my eyes at games.

Whatever ... there's no reason why DW can't have 2 (or more) assistant managers, maybe a la PS who had Blackley and Summerfield. Perhaps Shirtliff as AM with responsibility for defensive coaching and DB as AM assisting DW with the midfield/strikers with special responsibility for fervour. Not a piss take, as I think Budgie has a lot to offer STFC as part of the management team.
