Title: Pre season friendlies Post by: tans on Sunday, May 10, 2009, 16:12:32 A little birdy told me last night that a pre season friendly is being lined up against Liverpool. Also a game against a top 4 spanish team, and if that doesnt come off then celtic have been approached.
Scot Munroe will be cumming in his pants. Also apparently Michael Nelson was at the club on Friday. I do however suspect that this is all bollocks. Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, May 10, 2009, 16:13:02 Somebody is dreaming!

I can't remember the dates, but im pretty sure a fixture with us wouldn't fit into Liverpool's plans. Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Doore on Sunday, May 10, 2009, 23:18:55 I've heard Cardiff want us as the grand opening to their new ground. Of course, I live in Cardiff, and I heard it in my head.
I'm off to the fridge - there is more booze in there. I like booze. Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, May 10, 2009, 23:22:15 We've got a friendly away at luton, at home to salisbury and southport
Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Power to people on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 12:37:41 They ahve usually announced the 'pre-season' tour by now, but it is all quiet.
Maybe they are waiting for the play-off's to finish to see if we can announce a game against a Pre / Championsip/L1 or L2 team :D Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: fatbury on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 12:55:35 ive heard they are trying to arrange a game with Arsenal to celebrate 40 years of 1969 League Cup match ... you heard it here first!
Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 12:56:30 Does it really matter if we don't play glamouous teams? I'd rather play the likes of Cheltenham away as that's the kind of fixture we'll be having next season.
Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 13:39:31 Does it really matter if we don't play glamouous teams? Totally agree, the only bonus of a big name club is a bit of a pay packet on gat reciepts, which is pretty doubtful we would get more than 7,000 or so for almost an team in a friendly, especially when most teams would bring the youth team and reserves with very very few well known players. Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: nevillew on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 13:42:28 As Budgie knows 'Arry, we might get Tottenham.
Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: THE FLASH on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 13:45:09 If Celtic want Cox maybe Celtic will be coming after all.....
Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Luci on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 18:13:06 I want a big team! Big team or small team pre season means nothing! Plus, Im never going to get to see us play a big team in normal circumstances :D
Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 23:11:43 Like Portsmouth? In retrospect that game did nothing for us apart from set the tone from our fans for the season. All week people were just getting excited about Peter fucking Crouch. Still, at least they put out a strong team but we didn't see much of the ball.
Games against opponents like Cardiff will be more useful. Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Bogus Dave on Thursday, May 14, 2009, 23:38:08 That portsmouth game was also mcnamees best ever in a swindon shirt
Title: Re: Pre season friendlies Post by: Luci on Friday, May 15, 2009, 07:39:50 If fans want to take pre-season and use it as a bench mark for the rest of the season then thats their problem. Most of us know pre season means very little.
