Have had chest pains recently but ignored them(clever cunt i am) anyway went to the doctors and got to have a ecg tomorow. Anyone had this before is it something to worry too much about? Silly question i suppose

Hope it goes alright DRS....if there is anything wrong this will tell you...abit of running on the treadmill and some wires conected to your chest....believe me if theres anything amiss this will show you..

I had bad chest pains a few years back and had an ECG and they are nowt to be worried by mate.

They found out mine was down to stress and a mild asthma attack, better safe than sorry!

I had one years ago. The Doctor had asked me how long i had had an irregular heart-beat to which i replied "i didn't know i had till you just told me". I was nervous about the scan and worried that my worrying might make it seem worse than it was.

Anyhow, it's nothing to worry about, my heart seemed to sort itself out and it's not irregular now!

Dean. I have three ecg's now, each time the results have been negative - no problems showing up.  I still get the odd chest twinge, so they put me on a 24-hour monitor (had to carry it around in chest pocket whilst carrying out normal duties).  Again, when they ran it through their computer it found no problems.  Best of luck tomorrow.

its called an electro cardiogram. You get 10 wires connected to you and it takes a reading of your heart rythem...takes about 2mins. More often than not they come back normal. Always good to get chest pain checked out.

I changed doctors practices back in the autumn...the new one wanted to run a few tests by way of introduction, so I had to have an ecg. Problem was I'd been munched on by a bird about 4 or 5 days before and was covered in bites, all around the top of my chest, which by then had gone that sickly brown colour.

The nurse was tidy, well embarrassing  :-[

I've had two of these. Last time turned out I had pericarditis. It's when the membrane around your heart swells up casuing chest pain, usually comes on after a bout of flu and is treated with simple ibuprofen.

Hopefully nowt to worry about...although the first time I had it done I was seriously shitting it. I called the NHS hotline who wanted to send an ambulance to collect me!

What Mex said, hopefully it's all clear. My last one wasn't (Cardiomyopathy - Dan Jackson will know that's not good).

Sure it'll be fine and doesn't hurt a bit.

I've had a couple, sounds like it might have been easier to ask which of us hasn't, looks like half of our fan base could keel over and die if we have a promotion season!

I've also had a ecg. I think it was the fact I'm a fat git and they expected heart problems but it was working just fine and dandy at the time. Good luck DRS - oh and by the way its not invasive and doesn't hurt in any way.

All went fine so good news, just awaiting blood test results now.
