Title: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: michael on Monday, April 13, 2009, 16:38:40 Recent events will lead people to jump to obvious conclusions, so was there another reason why he wasn't barking orders from the technical area today?

Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: Rich Pullen on Monday, April 13, 2009, 19:55:42 This was unwanted publicity and will go against his contract. Surely they'll sack him?

Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: jonny72 on Monday, April 13, 2009, 22:22:51 Haven't they sacked him already?
Perfect opportunity to get rid of someone who can't possibly form any part of the long term plans I reckon. Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 15:03:12 Probably advised to stay away from the club until they investigate his conduct and decide his position is untenable
Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: Panda Paws on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 15:43:35 He was in charge of the stiffs today

Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: Panda Paws on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 16:25:15 Yea, a pretty entertaining game. Pat Kanyuka and the keeper were dreadful. I liked the look of Hamdi up top though, would have him next year as a third or fourth striker
Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: Power to people on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 15:19:59 Adver reports that Williams was asked to stay away for a few days, has had a meeting with Fitton but nothing has been resolved yet.
Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: axs on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 15:51:24 Just went past him at regent's circus, walking in front of the old college. Fascinating I know.

Presumably he'd been in the Savaloy....getting in shape for his future career. Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: strooood on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 16:34:15 i saw him in Mackenzies on Sunday night.
You just can't keep a good man down. Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: STFC_Gazza on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 16:55:37 The fact Ady took the reserve team yesterday would indicate to me he will just get a slap on the wrist from the club.

Blimey has he not learnt yet...although no problem if he's just having a quiet drink Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: pauld on Thursday, April 16, 2009, 18:42:54 Blimey has he not learnt yet...although no problem if he's just having a quiet drink FFS, he's supposed to be a football coach, not a monk. Seems there's a lot of people who don't want him as a coach who are climbing on this as a moral bandwagon as an excuse to sack the bloke. Not excusing what he's done but as has been said elsewhere, I doubt people would be clamouring for Cox's contract to be torn up under the same circumstances. If you (not you p2p, people generally) genuinely think he should be sacked for bringing the club into disrepute fair enough (although you might like to consider the precedent it sets for players, managers etc in the future), but if you just want him sacked because you don't rate him, have the honesty to say so and don't hide behind this as a convenient excuse.Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: leefer on Thursday, April 16, 2009, 18:55:36 Hes obviously got a drink problem in my eyes,he assaulted a woman in front of kids...very lucky he isnt in prison.....but as usual it seems Fitton is doing the right thing, giving it abit of time and not being rash(although appointing Malpass was the exception)....Cox has contibuted greatly to this club,in my view Pauld the opposite is the case for Williams, you cannot compare.

Yeah, but Adi does get himself into a bit of a state out on the Town, Paul? Accident/incident waiting to happen. And still is. Title: Re: Ady Williams not on the bench Post by: pauld on Thursday, April 16, 2009, 20:35:42 Yeah, but Adi does get himself into a bit of a state out on the Town, Paul? That's a fair point. After being involved in something like he has, wouldn't do him any harm to keep his head downAccident/incident waiting to happen. And still is. Leaving at the end of the season Quote TOWN first team coach Ady Williams will leave his post at the end of the season, the Swindon Advertiser can exclusively reveal. In court earlier this month Williams admitted assaulting his former lover, and was ordered to do 60 hours’ community service and pay £60 costs. Swindon chairman Andrew Fitton met with the 37-year-old last Tuesday to discuss his future, just hours before Williams took charge of the club’s reserve side. And the Advertiser understands Fitton informed the former Town skipper that his position at the County Ground had become untenable because of the charges brought against him. Town will release a statement within the next 48 hours announcing that Williams will remain in his role until the end of the current campaign, after which his time at the club will then come to a close. Williams, who won 13 caps for Wales during a distinguished playing career, was advised to stay away from the club following the completion of the case, and did not take his place on the bench for Swindon’s two Easter fixtures against Brighton and Leyton Orient. However, he was back on first team duties as Danny Wilson’s men secured a vital 1-1 draw at Carlisle on Saturday. Williams’ departure ends a spell of almost three years at Town as both a player and coach, in which he was also caretaker manager on three occasions. He was signed by then-manager Dennis Wise in the summer of 2006 and played a vital role in helping Town gain promotion from Coca Cola League Two at the first time of asking. However, a serious knee injury meant he played no part in the 2007/08 campaign and announced his retirement a year ago, going on to take up a coaching position at the County Ground.
