Title: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: michael on Sunday, April 5, 2009, 08:59:02 Our next must-win game.
Top scorer and perennial-Swindon-scourge Nicky Forster is out for the season, as is next-top-scorer Glenn Murray. On top of that, they have won only 4 games at home this season. These are facts that I know that analytical minds among us will enjoy reading. They play away mid-week though this is against Hereford, so Town fans will be hoping for a raft of red cards, injuries, and a home win. We'll sell out the away end won't we? Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, April 5, 2009, 09:31:06 We'll still lose. They are morons, I dislike them tremendously.
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: suttonred on Sunday, April 5, 2009, 09:36:11 Reckon we'll have a fair few there. I think we wont lose, our form last 5 has seen 10 points, their's is complete rubbish, we have Cox they have very little, we always lose there or seem to, but not this time.
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, April 5, 2009, 10:16:42 Cox will have to improve an awful lot from yesterday to give them any problems.
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: ronnie21 on Sunday, April 5, 2009, 14:12:39 Cox will have to improve an awful lot from yesterday to give them any problems. Did he play that badly so as not to injure himself and jeopardise any big money move in the close season? I would rather hope not!Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, April 5, 2009, 15:26:36 Did he play that badly so as not to injure himself and jeopardise any big money move in the close season? I would rather hope not! I don't buy this at all. It'd have to be a pretty serious injury to rule him out for all of April, May, June and July and prevent anybody from buying him.Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Crozzer on Sunday, April 5, 2009, 16:14:05 Brighton G W D L F A GD GFA GAA PpG Pts Rank Last 5 Home 5 1 2 2 7 8 -1 1.40 1.60 1.00 5 18 Swindon G W D L F A GD GFA GAA PpG Pts Rank Last 5 Away 5 1 0 4 6 9 -3 1.20 1.80 0.60 3 18 This would appear to be a banker score draw. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, April 6, 2009, 08:56:32 what don't you understand?
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: juddie on Monday, April 6, 2009, 09:41:33 If we lose at Brighton then we probably deserve to go down, seeing as though they're so cack. First goal will be crucial. Big, big game.
FWIW I think we'll win a nervy game 1-0. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, April 6, 2009, 09:47:49 The key stat in that lot is Brighton have only won 4 at home all season, that more or less guarantees them all 3 on Sat. Show us a poor team with a wretched home record, and we roll over...Cheltnumb, Yeovil, Crewe, ColU, although we did nick a point at Hereford. The win at Leyton Orient was due to it being on Boxing Day, when for some reason we have an excellent record.
It's good new about Forster, as he's an STFC specialist, but then again so is Owusu, and don't get me started on Dicker and Cox. Still by the end of next Monday, we should have a pretty clear idea of what league we'll be playing in next season, so the debate on the future of Wilson can commence in earnest. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: fatbury on Monday, April 6, 2009, 09:50:58 Whats the ticket situation for this one?
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, April 6, 2009, 09:52:09 what don't you understand? at a 2nd look, its just the colulmns dont line up. makes sense now. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Monday, April 6, 2009, 10:50:03 supporters down here have given up, that means 3 points for them.
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, April 6, 2009, 11:52:18 I will be staking the last of my betting pot on a Brighton win. If they don't oblige I think I will be happier.
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Tails on Monday, April 6, 2009, 11:55:12 If we lose at Brighton then we probably deserve to go down, seeing as though they're so cack. First goal will be crucial. Big, big game. FWIW I think we'll win a nervy game 1-0. By that logic, surely getting a point away at Leicester means we deserve to stay up? We all know we'll lose. It's the sort of game we always lose! It's not a new thing, it's been happening for years! Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Girlslikefootballtoo on Monday, April 6, 2009, 13:49:17 Lighten up you lot, think possitive!!
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, April 6, 2009, 14:44:40 After the JPT game...i swore that i would never set foot in that shit excuse for a stadium again.
Good luck to all you loyal faithful who will be there and hope the town can come up with a performance that you will be proud of. If not...a shit display and 3 points would be nice. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, April 6, 2009, 14:58:13 Lighten up you lot, think possitive!! I think even the normally  Tails, can now see the grim reality, that we're likely to need another side to collapse, as our players haven't the bottle to do the job on their own. The sooner this season ends, and whether it be Wilson or A N. Other, begins a complete clear-out of the Augean stable, the better. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: herthab on Monday, April 6, 2009, 15:09:25 Lighten up you lot, think possitive!! Some of us are still keeping the faith. one defeat in our last five games, 10 points from a possible 15 tell me that all is not lost. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, April 6, 2009, 15:26:33 I havent lost the faith at all.
I have seen enough home and away to know we can pull it off. We drew at Millwall...we deserved more. We lost at Colchester...we deserved a point. We lost at Leeds...a point went a begging. Tranmere...could of got a point. (NB - I went to all of these) N'ton - jangled the nerves but deserved the three points. Saturday was piss poor...lucky to get anything and they (exception of Smith in goal) deserved to be slated. I just got the feeling we wanted it on Saturday more than they did! We can do it...it just depends which team trots out at Brighton and home to the Orient. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, April 6, 2009, 16:57:01 I think even the normally  Tails, can now see the grim reality, that we're likely to need another side to collapse, as our players haven't the bottle to do the job on their own. Really? I thought we only needed 2 home wins and a draw away. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, April 6, 2009, 17:17:01 Really? I thought we only needed 2 home wins and a draw away. Yep piece of piss... Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, April 6, 2009, 17:30:21 Yep piece of piss... It will be given the fact our last 5 games have produced 10 points. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: 4D on Monday, April 6, 2009, 18:05:05 According to the stats we have won 15% drawn 40% and lost 45% on the road. At home Brighton have won 20% drawn 30% and lost 50%. So on that basis I am confused
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, April 6, 2009, 19:09:47 Don't be. A draw is the mostl likely outcome.
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: axs on Monday, April 6, 2009, 19:14:17 According to the stats we have won 15% drawn 40% and lost 45% on the road. At home Brighton have won 20% drawn 30% and lost 50%. So on that basis I am confused  Our shitnesses are like an unmovable object and an irresistible force. draw guaranteed. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: dell boy on Monday, April 6, 2009, 19:30:27 Don't be. A draw is the mostl likely outcome. A draw will be a good result. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: janaage on Monday, April 6, 2009, 19:39:15 According to the stats we have won 15% drawn 40% and lost 45% on the road. At home Brighton have won 20% drawn 30% and lost 50%. So on that basis I am confused  Don't be confused 4D, it's simple really, there's a 95% percent chance that both teams will lose on Saturday. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: 4D on Monday, April 6, 2009, 19:46:03 Don't be confused 4D, it's simple really, there's a 95% percent chance that both teams will lose on Saturday. Ah, now I understand. If we add our win % to there loss % and vice versa both = 65%; if we add the draw % = 70%. A draw it is (but a close one). Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, April 6, 2009, 19:53:29 It will be given the fact our last 5 games have produced 10 points. The previous 5 produced 2 points. If you look at points gained v bottom half of the table opponents, we're 24th. Points v top half,11th....we've three strugglers to play, I see no reason for this to change now... Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: dell boy on Monday, April 6, 2009, 19:55:42 The previous 5 produced 2 points. If you look at points gained v bottom half of the table opponents, we're 24th. Points v top half,11th....we've three strugglers to play, I see no reason for this to change now... No more doom and gloom Reg, it is going to change. Five points from the last five games should see us safe, six definitely. Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Monday, April 6, 2009, 20:05:06 The previous 5 produced 2 points. If you look at points gained v bottom half of the table opponents, we're 24th. Points v top half,11th....we've three strugglers to play, I see no reason for this to change now... Ah, so based on this logic we're going to draw with Rovers & thrash the pants of Peterborough. So it boils down to three points from the games against Brighton/Orient/Carlisle :D Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: fatbury on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 08:31:05 So is it all ticket for us on Saturday?
Title: Re: Let's look ahead to Brighton Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 08:46:27 Yes - just spoke to the ticket office and it is all ticket.
