I use Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) but there are others such as Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/) and I believe some of the heftier anti-virus programs have them built in.

It downloads all of the spyware programs including the add ons you normally have to pay for. Once you run it, it runs everything for you. Sadly it's all in Dutch but it's easy to install and all of the programs are in englishhhhhhhhhhh. Title: What exactly is spyware? First time I ran microsoft anti-spyware it came up with loads too.
